Reasons Why Sports Fans And Anime Fans Are The Same Thing

People who are obsessed with sports like to think of themselves as something other than geeky, but the truth is anyone who is obsessed with something to that degree is a geek.

Geeks are proud to be geeky, while sports fans act macho and make fun of geeks even though they also dress up in costumes, cry when their favorite character leaves the show.

They also can't perform any of the feats they see on the screen, even though they really wish they could- just like an anime geek.

If you know a rabid sports fan who is in denial about their geeky nature show them this comic strip by Charles Higson and convince them once and for all there's very little difference between their nerdy passion and yours.

Genius Baking Tips Straight From A Professional Pastry Chef

Whether you've rolled the dough a hundred times or just learned how to make chocolate chip cookies you can probably benefit from the knowledge of a pro pastry chef, especially if that knowledge is easy to digest.

Kyle Bartone is a pastry sous chef at Eataly in New York City, and he's got some genius tips to share with you that will make your adventures in baking much sweeter.

Let's start with the basics- ripening your cookie dough in the fridge for a day or two will give your cookies a better taste and texture, and after you've poured cake batter in a pan spin it and give it a few good taps to remove air bubbles.

And if you're going to decorate cakes and cookies you can save money by making your own piping bags out of parchment paper, and then you should take the money you saved and buy a multi-nozzled squirt bottle to keep your cakes moist:

"For large sheet cakes and rounds," says Bartone, "we give them a quick showering of simple syrup or booze to keep them moist." Most bakeshops use special squirt bottles ($14.99 on Amazon) that have multiple nozzles or showerlike lids to evenly soak their cakes. This makes sure the cakes stay super moist and don't dry out after you cut them.

Freddy, Jason and Chucky Star In Two And A Half Slashers

In some ways Chucky can be seen as the little brother to all the older and more experienced slashers, and if he had to choose two big brothers to guide him down his bloody path he'd probably choose Freddy and Michael Myers.

And since these two bloody idols have never tangled on film it's possible that they're long lost brothers, the perfect fiendish fellows to show a shrimpy little creep like Chucky how to cut grown-ups down at the knees.

Illustrator Re-Imagines The Stranger Things Characters As Adorable Figurines

Even though Will, Eleven, Dustin and the rest of the Stranger Things crew have proven they're way tougher than the average tweens they're also a bunch of cuties, which makes them the perfect subjects for a line of toys.

And even though a line of Stranger Things Funko Pop and action figures have been released these toys fail to capture the characters' cuteness as well as these concept models created by Venezuelan designer Chocotoy.

The Chocotoy version of Dustin is so adorable you just wanna pinch his cheeks and give him a big ol' hug, just like the real life version, and even though Eleven looks a bit bizarre her bitchin' nature still shines through.

Porcelain

Porcelain figurines don't have much sentimental value when you buy them to add to your collection, but when a figurine is made and given to you by a loved one it becomes far more special than some mere collectible.

And if that loved one should pass away the person who received the figurine may start to believe it has special properties, as if the soul of the deceased has been imbued in the figure to help protect their love.

But before you convince others to believe in the magic inside your figurine you'd better make sure it actually works first...

Porcelain is a slow burning animated short created by students at The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark about sailors, superstitions and the harsh mistress that is the sea.

What Happens To Condoms When They Sit In Your Drawer For Years?

If movies that star inanimate objects come to life like Sausage Party are to be believed then all condoms hope to be put to use after they've been purchased, even though that means they'll wind up in the trash or flushed down the toilet.

And yet few condoms will actually leave their package, because guys tend to buy way more condoms than they need, so instead of being used most will end up forgotten in a sock drawer or, even worse, shriveled up in some guy's wallet. (NSFW language)

These ridiculous animated shorts by CollegeHumor show us what happens when condoms go unused, so they're like a safe sex PSA and a raunchy animated comedy in one!

Dad Cuts Into A Wasp Nest The Size Of A Basketball To Show His Kids What's Inside

Wasps are ill-tempered insects that pack one hell of a painful sting, so people usually try to steer clear of any wasp's nests they come across unless they're being paid to remove them.

But after the wasps have cleared out for good, and people dare to get close enough to the nest to investigate, they notice how oddly beautiful those homes wasps build out of their own spit actually are.

Creator of the YouTube channel What's Inside Dan Markham cut open a basketball-sized wasp nest to show his kids how cool it looks inside, and they were intrigued and a bit scared, since his boy Lincoln had been stung four times before.

Angry Sea Lion Blocks Blue Planet II Crew From Leaving Docks They Were Filming On

Sea lions don't look so tough when they're just laying there looking all peaceful and lazy, but if you piss one off you'll see why so many animals fear those blubbery bastards- because they can be intimidating as hell.

A crew filming Blue Planet II for the BBC weren't aware the docks they were filming on were guarded by an ornery sea lion, who should be nicknamed Gandalf because if he could speak human he'd be screaming "You shall not pass!".

Emojis That Look Completely Different On Different Smartphones

Emojis are either a really cool feature for messaging apps or a dumb and useless gimmick depending on who you ask, but the fact that we're all using smartphones these days means we see emojis all the time.

And even though people love to argue about discuss what certain emojis actually mean they should really be discussing why each phone company has to have a different look for their emojis.

Don't they know their interpretation of these emojis will only end up fueling further debate about what each emoji actually means?

Here are two examples that show how some companies (mainly Samsung) seem to miss the point entirely with their versions of popular emojis:

1. FACE WITH ROLLING EYES

Apple: Way to miss the point.
Google: Ugh. Oh boy. Nice one. NOT!
Samsung: Heh, heh. Neato.

2. SNAKE

Apple: Beware!
Google: Beware?
Samsung: Aww. Snakey-poo.

Photos That Prove Mother Nature Does Whatever She Wants

Mother Nature can be both majestic and scary as she wields her control over the wilderness and turns the natural world upside-down seemingly just for the hell of it.

But all the things she does, destructive or otherwise, are done for a reason that may not always be clear to the humans who rent land from her.

These natural wonders are so beautiful we can't help but ooh and aah at the majesty of it all, even though those bioluminescent waves are made of terrified phytoplankton and fire whirls uproot trees and spread wildfires during their glorious dance.

The basalt columns are an example of Mother Earth turning something destructive (basaltic lava) into something beautiful, while the bloody red tides that occur after an algal bloom look cool but often result in the death of hundreds of marine animals.
