A Hutt's Gotta Be A Hutt

There are plenty of beings across the galaxy that could stand to lose a bit of weight, but Hutts just don't look right without their signature slug-like gut.

Hutt weight loss is also liable to render them vulnerable to blaster fire, which could be bad for business, so if you see a Hutt thinking about getting a gym membership remind them that their bulk is what makes them repulsive beautiful.

This Hutt oriented anti-weight loss comic was brought to you by Steve Hamaker, as a reminder- a skinny Hutt is a dead Hutt!

Photographer And Wikimedia Fight Over Who Owns Monkey Selfie Copyright

The folks at the U.S. Copyright Office don’t monkey around when it comes to enforcing copyright laws, but there’s one case that has them all scratching their heads- the case of the monkey selfie.

In 2011 photographer David Slater was visiting an Indonesian national park to shoot some nature pics when a crested black macaque got ahold of his camera and shot some historic selfies.

These selfies have created a bit of a conundrum over who owns the rights to the pics- David understandably claims he does, but Wikimedia Commons claims that the macaque actually owns the copyright to the photos.

(Images Via David Slater/Caters News Agency/Unnamed macaque)

Wikimedia refuses to take down the photo, which they've been distributing for free on their site, because the macaque hit the shutter button and therefore, in their eyes, owns the copyright.

What do you think- can a macaque own the rights to a photo, or does David retain all rights because it was his camera?

Why Walk When You Can Ride Piggyback?

PiggyBack is the newest (fake) app created to help people get from point A to point B, when the distance between the two points is too far to walk but too short to warrant travel by car.

Following the pattern set by Uber, Lyft and Sidecar, PiggyBack lets you request rides from strangers with strong backs and a couple of hours to kill, rides that come with the satisfaction of knowing that your fate truly rests on someone else's shoulders:

(Video Link)

PiggyBack is the brainchild of the folks at Zenn Films, who have absolutely no experience creating an app and only a feeble grasp of what it takes to carry someone across town on your back.

If only PiggyBack were a real app, we would see the city streets come alive with a new generation of proud PiggyBackers carrying their precious cargo to their destination safely, and with minimal jostling.

Instead we'll just have to take rides in those boring old cars, and dream of clinging to a sweaty stranger's back for a surreal trip across town...

Rave Ticketholders Must Watch Anti-Drug PSA Before Entering Event

Drugs have ruined many a good dance party, mostly due to overdosing, dehydration or overheating while dancing, and because of this ever present party scene killer even the promoters have changed their minds about downplaying the dangers of party drugs.

In an unprecedented move among EDM event promoters, the creators of the Electric Zoo Festival are making ticketholders watch a PSA, created by Dexter screenwriter James Manos Jr., that warns about the dangers of dancing with “Molly” (a supposedly purer form of MDMA, aka Ecstasy) before entering the event.

(Video Link)

The organizers are urging attendees to "be present" during the event, stating:

Our message to concertgoers is simple: The Electric Zoo experience is exceptional and worth being present for. Molly can cause you to not only miss the moment, alienate your friends and have an overall adverse and unpleasant experience, but can also make you sick and can even be fatal. Fans will experience how great it is to "Come To Life" at one of our concerts from lights, sounds and crowds.

Will watching a PSA before a rave change the way attendees conduct themselves at the event, or is this just the organizer's way of avoiding liability for any drug-related deaths that might occur at their event? My guess is the latter...

Bear Takes A Stroll Through New Jersey Neighborhood

What do you do when you see a bear walking upright through your suburban neighborhood in New Jersey?

Ian Bohman grabbed his smart phone and start taping his stroll, because without the footage to prove it nobody would have believed what he saw!

(Video Link)

The bear in the video is obviously just trying to fit in with the neighborhood by walking around like the people do, but is this a sign of things to come in the bear community?

Have bears figured out what those Yogi Bear cartoons taught us long ago, that a bear walking upright while wearing a trenchcoat and top hat is indistinguishable from a human?

Hopefully not, or we're in for a serious food shortage...

11 Varieties Of Mannequins That Make Shopping A Total Nightmare

Some retail store mannequins drive away business, filling shoppers with a sense of dread and causing them to steer clear of that shop.

Here’s an introduction to eleven types of mannequins that will put a fright into you, and make you think twice about hitting the mall.

1. Frankenstein's Mannequin-

What is a retailer to do when they have a head from one mannequin and a body from another? Grab some packing tape and attach that head any way you can!:

Thirteen Of The Most Ridiculous TMNT Villains Of All Time

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were always meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek, and even the far more serious comic book version often approached ideas of mutation, vigilantism and teenhood in a playful manner.

Villains like Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady and Leatherhead were already pushing the boundaries of what constitutes a challenging villain, but they're pushovers compared to the crazy creations that made io9's list of Thirteen Of The Most Ridiculous TMNT Villains Of All Time.

It's almost like the folks who came up with these whacked out baddies were just drawing names out of a hat, taking the whole idea of mutation to a most ridiculous extreme.

A hybrid monster with the power of five classic monsters in one? I guess even movie monsters aren't immune to The Ooze. A sattelite-human hybrid named Vid Vicious? Never mind the bollocks, just aim for his tin can head!

Drifters - A Dark Animated Tale About Strangers On A Train

Some stories give the characters and plot time to develop organically, but there’s also something to be said for a story that starts smack dab in the middle, picking up the pieces of another story that has already occurred.

(Video Link)

Drifters is an animated tale that begins somewhere in the middle, a story about “strangers who wake up on a train after a traumatic event”, passengers who have no idea how they got on that train or where they're going.

Drifters is a product of animator Ethan Clarke’s unique mind, and even though it was created in 2012 this strange little cartoon is truly timeless- because strange stories never go out of style.

Raccoons Inspired To Greatness By Guardians Of The Galaxy

Humans aren’t the only ones cheering about the new Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy, the raccoons of the world now have their own superheroic idol on the big screen, and their lives have been changed forever.

Suddenly raccoons around the world are walking a bit taller, they're no longer afraid to face the coyotes who have oppressed raccoonkind for centuries, and they're even adopting a bolder fashion sense to show the world how important they are

Ordinary raccoons may not get to travel across the galaxy in a starship, launch various explosive projectiles from a gun, or help save a universe full of non-raccoons, but just knowing there's a guy like Rocket Raccoon out there makes regular raccoon folks feel like royalty!

How Much Is That Monkey In The Drive-Thru?

Magical prankster Rahat Hussein is back with a new friend who likes monkeying around just as much as he does- a capuchin monkey who seems to be capable of driving himself to the drive-thru whenever he gets hungry.

(Video Link)

What’s a monkey gotta do to get a hamburger in this town? Apparently pose for some pictures and entertain the friendly folks at the window who seem mighty happy to see him.

I guess you see enough crazy stuff after working the drive-thru window for a while that a monkey rolling up in his own car doesn’t even faze you!

Jeff Goldblum Co-Stars In Epic T-Rex Themed Wedding Photo

(Image Via Adam Biesenthal)

If you think Jeff Goldblum seems like a really fun guy to hang out with in real life, a great guy to invite to a party, then these fun Tyrannosaurus attack wedding photos will prove you right.

Jeff was in attendance at the wedding of his fiancee’s friend Pamela Sargent when the photographer (Adam Biesenthal) approached him about being in the T-Rex attack themed wedding photos, with the T-Rex added via photoshop so as not to endanger the guests.

Jeff agreed to play along, and now this lucky wedded couple has some of the most amazing wedding photos ever digitally manipulated.

Jeff’s expression is a mixture of acting scared and instantly regretting his decision to be in this photo series, because he’s gotta be tired of all the Jurassic Park references by now, right?

Very Impressive LEGO Version Of Springfield

There’s a man named Matt who created an entire cartoon universe full of strange looking yellow skinned people who happen to resemble real life folks, and then there’s the other man named Matt who built a replica of the first Matt’s city of Springfield entirely out of LEGO.

This story is about that second Matt, and his impressively detailed model of the city, a model that once again proves that The Simpsons and LEGO are two geeky tastes that go great together.

Matt De Lanoy is earning his Master Builder stripes by recreating this iconic toon town out of LEGO, but Springfield looks like it's short a few dozen buildings and landmarks, so hopefully Matt will continue to pay homage to the original Matt via LEGO bricks and keep building up that town!
