The mad titan had been searching the galaxy for the glove of infinity, which housed the colorful soul gems that would power his quest for intergalactic conquest, but instead he fell for a sales pitch and brought home the Power Glove. This made the titan extremely angry, fueling his anger towards humanity and increasing his desire to watch the Earth burn...

You may refer to the type of humor found in these Super Bowl ads as irreverent, juvenile, surreal, abstract, strange, ridiculous or super silly, but I prefer to think of this particular brand of humor as Stupid Funny.

They're the kind of ads that make you say "that's so stupid!" while you're LOLing, ROFLing and trying not to choke on your chips, and no matter what your mood the ridiculousness of it all is sure to put a smile on your face! 

1. E*Trade- We Just Wasted 2 Million Dollars (2000)-

E*Trade decided to tickle our funny bones with a chimpanzee and tickle our brains with commentary on the ridiculously high prices paid for Super Bowl advertising with this stupid funny ad.

This ad also introduces the E*Trade Monkey, who subsequently cashed in his stock in the company and bought a cute little cabin on Bora Bora.

2. EDS (an HP Company)- Cat Herders (2000)-

I'm pretty sure the old cowboy tune goes "git along lil dogies", but since the ad company was clearly trying to appeal to an ever growing internet culture they canned the canines and brought in a herd of wild kitties. Does that mean these guys are a posse of catboys?

If you think Doritos are murder on the roof of your mouth imagine how dangerous they can be in the hands of a martial arts master!

4. FedEx- Stick (2006)-

When cavemen absolutely, positively need a stick delivered on time they tend to go with a pterodactyl delivery service, which normally ends in disaster. If only those crafty cavefolks had put their minds to something besides clubbing and rubbing sticks together they could have been millionaires!

Food wrappers amount to millions of tons of additional garbage ending up in landfills each year, but the fact that they make food products far more portable and help keep them fresh means they’re not going away anytime soon.

So how do we reduce wrapper waste yet retain their usefulness? Swedish design duo Tomorrow Machine have offered a solution in the form of compostable and reusable packaging.

Tomorrow Machine's package designs come in two package waste reducing forms- a compostable container that dissolves in water and the Sustainable Expanding Bowl:

A biodegradable, cellulose wrapper fits snugly around freeze-dried food. Pour hot water into a spout, and not only will the food insta-cook, the wrapper will blossom open and morph into a bowl.

The ninja has become such an archetypal figure in the world of pop culture that ninjafans assume they know all there is to know about the shadowy assassins in black because they've seen all the movies and read all the books.

However, most of those books and movies leave out all the real cool ways ninjas used elements in their surroundings to their advantage, and the nifty little gadgets that aided them in their stealthy pursuits.

Need to cross a moat or pond in a hurry? Historians believe ninjas strapped pontoon like devices to their feet called Mizu Gumo (Water Spider), which folded up nicely and helped aid in their escape.

Shuriken are cool and katanas slice real nice, but there’s nothing like silently delivering a dose of poison via hairpin, or scratching your way to victory with the Neko-Te (cat’s paw) weapon used primarily by the kunoichi (female ninja).

Domino’s Pizza has always taken a rather lighthearted approach to advertising (remember the Noid?) but when it comes to creating national ad campaigns it can be really easy to take humor too far.

Take this Sriracha Pizza spot Domino's wisely decided not to include in their Superbowl ad campaign:

The ad was created by advertising agency McCann Israel, and even though the pitch was never approved the image inevitably made its way online and is now causing quite a stir. Domino's reps are ardently denying they authorized use of their logo, and claim "the people responsible are being dealt with", but it sure looks like a legit pitch to me.

It’s obviously meant to cash in on the Fifty Shades Of Grey hype and add some edginess to their ads, but deciding the S&M theme was a little too NC-17 for a national ad campaign was clearly a smart choice. -Via The Daily What
