The Seven Deadliest Fashion Trends

People have been sacrificing comfort, physical appearance and unbroken bones in the name of fashion for centuries, and even though it seems like we should know better by now people still stuff, cram, wedge, tuck, crush and squish themselves into ill-fitting clothes in order to stay fashionably current.

However, people don’t generally die trying to cram themselves into a pair of skinny jeans, but there have been fashion trends throughout history that were quite deadly, and unlike the Deadly Fashion Trends Miss C posted a while back this particular group killed fashionistas with chemicals and toxins.

A shade of dye created with arsenic called Paris Green, nitrobenzine shoe polish that soaked into the wearer's feet and made them lose consciousness, and glowing hair created by brushing in radium laced paint are just a few of the ways people once died to look good and stay trendy.

This Woman Really Captures The Personality Of All Twelve Zodiac Signs

The pick-up line “what’s your sign?” may have gone out of style in the 70s, along with the Pet Rock and macramé wall art, but people still groove on the zodiac as a happenin' way to get some guidance about which long, strange trip to go on, and where that wavy gravy road will lead.

Debra Silverman is an astrological professional who offers zodiac related advice, like when you should dig everything and everyone or when to stay inside because your bad moon is rising.

Debra also happens to be a psychotherapist, so she's able to provide even more insight into the minds of the twelve different personality types. Apparently she's also an actress, and as you'll see in these videos she can bust out a zodiac personality type like nobody's business!

Personally, I'm a Gemini, and her performance of my Zodiac Personality In Action is spot on:

However, I've known plenty of Scorpios, many of my best friends are Scorpios, so I can safely say there's something about this Scorpio Personality In Action that seems a bit off:

What do you totally right on readers think? Was Debra's analysis of your sign mind blowing and like wow, man, or does her astrological chakra need a bit of fine tuning?

Check out all of Debra's totally uncanny personality performances here and see if she captures the zodiac side of you!

A London Bus Stop Made Of 100,000 LEGO Bricks

It’s safe to say that Brits, in this instance Londoners, have lots of love for LEGO building bricks, so much love that there's an entire bus stop built out of LEGO bricks in London.

The LEGO bus stop was built to celebrate 200 years of London buses- it's situated at the Conduit Street stop on Regent Street and features a very appropriate ad for nearby Hamley’s Toy Store.

Every bit of this brick-tastic bus stop is made out of LEGO bricks, from the benches to the signage to the clear bricks used to replace the glass in the side panels.

#LEGOBusStop is only going to be around for a limited time, so if you’re a LEGO fanatic with lots of frequent flyer miles you'd better head for the airport!

Foster The People's Animated Music Video For Pseudologia Fantastica

(Video Link)

Call it what you want, but Foster the People’s fan love, critical acclaim and rising stardom is well deserved because it all comes from the fact that they make some mighty sweet music, at least to my ears.

Their tunes are as fun and bouncy as a pair of pumped up kicks, and their videos are every bit as entertaining as their songs.

Their latest video is for a lil’ ditty called Pseudologia Fantastica, featuring eye pleasing animation by Hannes/Johannes which was conceptualized by FTP member Mark Foster, who came up with the idea while driving through Cuba.

Mark drew inspiration from all he saw around him, concluding that even in Cuba cash is king, and this video became a labor of love as well as a surreal love letter to the people of Cuba.

Facial Analysis Software Reveals The Identity Of This Handsome Woman

Do you know this woman? She is the subject of a photo by well known British photographer John Deakin and has, up until recently, been known simply as "Unknown Woman, 1930s".

A gallery of John's photos was recently shared by The Guardian, and this oddly compelling pic, the final photo in the gallery, was the subject of debate among commenters.

One commenter casually threw out the statement "Or is it Bacon in drag?", referring to Deakin's fellow Colony Room member and friend Francis Bacon, which sent Deakin Collection manager Paul Rousseau's mind racing.

Rousseau used facial recognition software to establish a connection between this mysterious "woman" and Francis Bacon, and the video renders create a compelling argument that the "Unknown Woman" is actually Bacon in drag, shot well after the speculative 1930s date.

There are still many mysteries surrounding Deakin's photo, for instance how Bacon managed to give himself cleavage, and why he looks so much older here than in other photos taken around the same time, but the ultimate question remains- is this a previously unknown, and totally bizarre, portrait of Francis Bacon?

Amazingly Detailed Miniature Paintings On Food

Paintings don’t come much smaller than the micro paintings created by artist Hasan Kale. Hasan has painted delicate scenes on the side of cactus spines, butterfly wings and seashells, but this time around he's adding his oh-so precise strokework to itty-bitty bits of food.

Hasan paints stormy seascapes on dried banana slices, fits the pyramids and sphinx on the side of a coffee bean, and even finds room for a painting of a fish on the side of a grain of rice.

His paintings are incredibly bold, and minutely detailed, despite the fact that many of his works are painted on an edible canvas less than an inch high!

New Tumblr Site Celebrates The Good Old Days Of Gaming Magazines

Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine was a treasure trove of video game related news, fun ads and awesome level maps that made gamers eagerly await its arrival every month, and unlike Nintendo Power or Playstation Magazine EGM featured news about games being released on all platforms.

The features were fun to read, adding an extra story dimension to the games, and EGM was so fun to read that subscription renewal was a given for gamers (like myself) who couldn't get enough!

Now, thanks to the efforts of game designer Cameron Kunzelman and his Tumblr site Reading EGM you can relive the glory days of video game magazine, without a subscription.

Cameron's Tumblr has only begun to deliver the goods, but you can already see that his site is shaping up to be a great place to get a dose of video game nostalgia.

Sherlock Phrenology - The Lost Art Of Head Mapping

Sherlock Phrenology by Wharton

Upon examination of the great detective's cranial topography it was discovered that his nearly inhuman capacity for solving crimes came from the fact that an unusually large amount of his mental energy is being devoted to deduction, with neighboring regions concerned with detection and sociopathy fueling his drive to solve crimes. That being said, it's alarming how much of this great man's mind is devoted to thoughts about tea and nicotine, and charming that his good friend Watson is also always on his mind!

Celebrate the great detectives even greater mind with this Sherlock Phrenology t-shirt by Wharton and maybe you'll discover a thing or two about how your own mind works...
