Turn Your Hybrid Car Into High Fashion Art

Lexus claims that their new CT Hybrid is 90% recyclable, and they aim to prove it by having designers create fashion art pieces out of various car parts for "The Lexus Fashion Workshop".

The pieces will be shown in the January 2012 issue of Vogue magazine, and there's no word yet on whether the automotive fashion pieces will then be turned back into a car and driven away after the photo shoot. This line gives new meaning to the phrase "check out her headlights."

Live Action Version Of Catwoman Kicking Some Tail

(YouTube Link)

It was a great idea to make a stunt video that shows what video game combat would look like in real life, and it makes for an action packed minute-and-a-half. But why do the bad guys always stand around, waiting for their turn to face the character instead of just mobbing them en masse?

And why does kicking ass mean characters fly through the air, throwing flying punches and other equally ineffective moves? Oh well, please excuse my criticisms and enjoy this video showing what Catwoman would look like kicking some street thug tail.

This AT-ST Treehouse Is The Coolest

This awesomely geeky AT-ST treehouse is simple, no-frills fun for a child that's more content using their imagination all day rather than being plugged in to a tv or video game console all day. Combine this with some sweet kiddy cosplay sessions and you've got a little piece of Endor in your backyard.

For The Lush That Has Everything-The Booze Backpack

This double barreled contraption can either be loads of fun, say if you fill it with punch or soda for a kid's birthday party, or you can fill the chambers with booze and prepare for your house to become a vomitorium.

This is the kind of stupid invention you hope doesn't fall into the wrong hands, even though I'm pretty sure the only people that are going to buy this thing were born with the wrong hands.

Movie Posters With A Retro Comics Look

These simplistic yet slick movie posters by Claudia Varosio are inspired by the covers of retro comic books such as Tintin and early Action Comics, and their style suits the movies she's chosen for her series quite well. Check out the rest at the link below, and if you want one for yourself they're available for purchase through Claudia's Etsy store. Link --via DesignTAXI

What If Batman: Arkham City Took Place In Springfield?

Every pop culture character looks funnier when they're Simpsonized! Awesome toon creator Dean Fraser has taken on the video game Batman:Arkham City via his Springfield Punx blog, where stiff upper lips and yellow skin abound.

Please note that Dean's illustrations start about halfway down the page linked to below; the drawings on the upper half are done by various fans and aren't nearly as well done as Dean's great designs.

Play Your Old NES Games On The Go

Man, if this amazing little gaming device had been invented when I was a kid, I probably would have gone outside to play more often, although it would have surely been with this portable gaming console in hand. Called the HandyNES, it plays all the old Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges, and you can even use the light gun to play a tiny game of Duck Hunt.

Life Sized Samus Made Out Of Old Game Cartridges

Samus Aran has been bringing the girl power to video games since the premiere of Metroid on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, and although the series isn't as prolific as, say, the Mario Bros. franchise, it nevertheless inspires a plethora of fan art.

But this life sized Samus fan art, made out of broken game cartridges from various gaming consoles, takes some serious dedication in terms of construction and the size of the display itself. And now this massive fan artwork is up for sale on Ebay, so you can bring it home and decide for yourself where the heck you're going to display it!

Hilarious Art School Advertising Campaign

I know the idea of going to art school is a concept that we as Americans lampoon every chance we get, but making it out to be some sort of PSA worthy societal problem is downright creative!

This advertising campaign for the aptly named College for Creative Studies features young artists stuck in awkward situations when their parents discover what they've been up to. Sculpting is not a crime!

Art Nouveau Poster Designs For Assassins Creed

If good looks could kill, the assassins in these posters would be racking up a body count. These art nouveau Assassins Creed posters are perfect for classing up your geekified pad, because only you will know that they're referencing a video game!

Designed by DeviantArtist S. Strand, they are totally cool looking and are currently being sold for a great cause-to raise money so she can go home to visit her family this Christmas.

Toadwart's Advanced Guide To Power-Ups

This visual guide has been released in order to prevent confusion when you discover these magical items in the world of the Mario Bros. Created by Juxtapop, this nicely illustrated guide was inspired by the Harry Potter universe:

I finally got around to watching every Harry Potter film.  Never saw them before, never read the books.  Then it hit me.  They have all the same powers as Mario.

So, while they may have the same powers at their disposal, Mario totally pwns Harry Potter in every way.

Why You Shouldn't Go Christmas Caroling With Yoda

You'd think Yoda's amazing Force powers would allow him to correct his speech impediment, especially when getting on everyones nerves it is. This cute Shoebox Cards illustration shows why the rest of the Star Wars gang are sick of Christmas caroling with the little green Jedi Master.

Itsa Super Mario Bros. Opera

(YouTube Link)

Fans of the Mario Bros. video game franchise draw inspiration from the moustachioed plumbers in so many creative ways, but i'm generally most impressed by the musical tributes. This operatic styled song released on YouTube by legolambs has hilarious lyrics that go along with the gameplay so well that you'll be entertained even though you're watching someone play Super Mario Bros. for the millionth time.

Half Life: Origins Live Action Short

(YouTube Link)

Inspired by the Half Life video game series, and the sense of wonder experienced in the opening scene as Gordon Freeman pulls into Black Mesa station, this is one of those shorts that's interesting to watch even if you've never played the games. Just think of it as a deleted scene from LOST, unless you are a die-hard Half Life fan, in which case you will find that statement to be offensive. Sorry about that.

Star Wars: Empire Of The Bat

Batman and Star Wars would be a pretty sweet crossover, with Batman battling the Imperial Army forces while trying to contain his own dark side.

But this fan art mashup by Dean Fraser contains concepts I find a bit strange, like the fact that the Joker is the Emperor and is therefore Batman's superior, or Nightwing being directly opposed to Batman as Luke Skywalker, but the character designs are spot on and very well done so I guess strange concepts be damned. Funniest character mashup in this series- Penguin the Hutt!
