Pallets Transformed Into Functional Wall Decorations

Pallets are made to hold stuff aloft during shipping, and they're made of solid wood so they're also technically made to be burned in a bonfire too, preferably at the beach with a cooler full of cold ones close at hand.

But craftsman Kone Mei was thinking outside the crate when he figured out a fun way to turn the trusty pallet into a really cool, functional and easy to mount wall decoration.

But Kone wasn't content to simply slap some paint on a pallet and hang it on the wall- he wanted each piece to look cool and be truly functional too, so he added lots of little hidden features to each one.

His Nintendo themed pallet has slots to hold an NES console, two controllers and a Gameboy, while his dartboard/mini bar combo features hidden speakers, wireless charging ports and a USB clock vent.

And this old timey pallet has a ton of ultra modern features, including a bluetooth stereo system with subwoofer and a plasma lamp controlled by a water valve switch.

Vintage Japanese Young Person's Guide To Sex From The '60s

It's hard to tell whether the Japanese have a more enlightened view of human sexuality or if they're just so crass that standard sexual intercourse is beneath their fetish-driven interests.

But everyone will agree young people in Japan are better off learning about sex from a scientific book rather than some tentacle porn manga, even if the book is a bit outdated.

The Young Person's Guide To Sex is a primer for teens who know they want to have sex but know nothing else about the act, including how to court a potential partner.

The book starts off innocently enough with lessons on hand holding and ways to become comfortable with each other physically then it gets down to the nuts and bolts of sex, including positions.

But the whole thing comes off a bit too PG to actually teach teens anything about sex, since they use a drawing mannequin instead of a man for the position charts and teach clockwise belly button swirling as a sex technique. Counter-clockwise maybe, but clockwise? Come on...

Things You Learn While Fixing People's Computers, According To A Geek Squad Member

When you hand over your computer to a technician, like those identified as part of the "Geek Squad", you have no idea what sort of person that computer tech really is or what they're going to do with your computer.

But, according to the anonymous Geek Squad member Cracked spoke to for their article, you needn't worry about the Squad stealing your vital information- because most of them don't have a clue how to plumb your hard drive for info.

In fact, even though they know what they're doing on paper they don't know what they're doing when they agree to repair your unit- so they look to Google for answers.

They do know all about how filthy laptops are underneath the case, and they know how to sell you on replacement parts and peripherals to help "prevent future problems" because many Geek Squad members are actually salespeople disguised as techs.

Regular People Try To Punch A UFC Fighter

Recently we posted a video with regular people squaring off against Olympic fencer Monica Aksamit, and surprisingly the Star Wars fan in the group managed to score 1 point off of Monica.

But fencing with swords is quite different than swinging your fists, so will this (mostly) new batch of regular people be able to land even a single punch on UFC veteran Krzysztof "The Polish Experiment" Soszynski?

A better question would be- do regular people even know how to throw a proper punch? According to this BuzzFeedBlue video the answer is a great big "NO".

Death Buy Lemonade

It seems like the Grim Reaper would be a pretty thirsty entity considering all the traveling and soul transporting they do, and having no skin to cover those old bones of theirs must give them a serious case of dry mouth.

But according to Death Buy Lemonade by Kyu-bum Lee the Reaper don't care about thirst, lemonade or supporting small businesses- they just want to grab the soul and go, so they probably prefer fast food.

Comical Lowbrow Paintings Of Disney's Bastards

Disney's cartoon characters are drawn to be visually appealing, cute and charismatic, in other words they're supposed to look good so audiences will want to watch them and root them on.

But French artist Gilen Bousquet has dispensed with all likeability in his lowbrow art series Disney's Bastards, turning childhood favorites like Dumbo, Ariel and Mowgli into dark degenerates.

Gilen's twisted versions of Disney characters still retain some of their visual appeal, but their bad habits have definitely taken a toll on them and now they're begging to be redrawn.

A Ska Version Of The Scooby Doo, Where Are You? Theme Song

It's safe to say the Scooby Doo, Where Are You! theme song is one of, if not the, most iconic theme songs in television history, and we can't hear the words "Scooby Doo" without having that catchy song come to mind.

And once you watch The Holophonics cover the Scooby Doo theme song you'll hear their ska version of the song in your head instead of the original!

A Kooky Compilation Of Chuck E. Cheese's Animatronic Malfunctions

The killer robots in the Five Nights At Freddy's franchise are loosely based on the animatronic characters found at theme restaurants like Chuck E. Cheese's and Showbiz Pizza Place, but the real robots don't eat people.

However, it's easy to imagine Chuck E., Helen or Mr. Munch going crazy on the patrons when they start having uncontrollable robo-spasms that look like the stuff of nightmares.

Luckily they're usually bolted to the stage, giving kids a head start when the animatronic characters turn into psycho killing machines...

Never mind the countdown, these animatronic characters look creepy whether they're functioning properly or not!

How To Make Bread That Will Outlast The Apocalypse

One of the top three priorities in any survival scenario is the need for food, which is often in short supply when the s#%t hits the fan.

Which is why you may have seen recipes for hard tack, aka survival bread, floating around on sites like Pinterest- it's a must-have during a disaster scenario and the stuff has a shelf life of around a year or two.

Plus, survival bread is made with just three ingredients- water, flour and salt, which makes it ideal for dire situations where the crops are gone and food is hard to find.

A post shared by Backyard Survival (@backyard_survival) on Feb 22, 2015 at 12:33pm PST

Survival bread can be baked over a campfire inside a grapefruit or coconut, you can sub in sugar, oats and mixed fruit to give the bread a little flavor, and if you add olive oil to the mix the bread becomes way more palatable.

Failed Auditions That Cost Actors Major Roles

We're constantly hearing about how so-and-so auditioned for a role and got it, or how whats-their-name turned down a chance to play a character who became a pop culture institution, but it's rare to hear about failed auditions.

Which is why this somewhat erroneously titled video by Looper is pretty cool- it includes footage from failed auditions including Seth Rogen's audition to play Dwight on The Office and young Scarlett Johansson's audition to play Judy Shepherd in Jumanji.

It also has a few auditions that would be considered oddities more than failures, like the time Tom Selleck tried out for the role of Indiana Jones, a role he would have gotten had he not been stuck in paradise filming Magnum, p.i.

Amazingly Detailed Warhammer 40K Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Cosplay

Creating costumes based on artwork from the tabletop game series Warhammer 40k can be mighty hard, especially when you choose to cosplay a character with intricately detailed armor rather than yet another Space Marine.

So I'm always blown away by cosplayers who rise to the challenge and create killer WH40K costumes that look like they stepped right out of the pages of the book, like this jaw dropping Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor costume by Ildiko Jobbagy, aka Okkido Cosplay.

Ildiko made the armor and accessories out of Worbla thermoplastic, but surprisingly she says the hardest props to make were the books:

“One of them is hand-written (more than 300 pages) and the other one is printed. It took months to finish these hand-bound books,” she said, “The weapons were also an interesting challenge to make, as they really ‘work.’ The plasma gun gives shooting sound and light as I pull the trigger, the power mace has breathing lights. I love building electric circuits and these were the most complicated systems I have built so far.”

The Lighter Side Of Compulsory Military Training In China

The idea of compulsory military training for teens seems scary and fascist to some, but the Chinese girls and guys who are forced to train still find time to have fun.

And now that the internet lets us share information with the world we get to see the lighter side of compulsory military training in China- pics of freshman trainees having fun while they train hard.

China's compulsory training involves university students spending two weeks of their freshman year attending lectures and going through emergency response drills so they're prepared to help out should something happen.

And although forced military service still seems wrong to me, providing free emergency preparedness training to young people right after high school seems like a rock solid idea.
