Growing up in Massachusetts in the 50's we had an amusement park in Revere Beach. It had a ride called the "Wild Mouse". It had a wooden rollercoaster track and small metal cars that could fit 2 people, one in front of the other or one adult and 2 kids crammed in the foot of the 'mouse'. I was the one stuffed in front. I was 4 at the time and it was an old, rickety ride with hair-pin turns that made the wheels of the cars lift up off the track and tilt ever so slightly onto one side. There were no big guardrails to prevent cars from tipping over. Every so often one of the cars would go over the side of the track, killing the riders. They finally closed it down after too many people died.

*Scarred for life by that ride I now hate rollercoasters.*

Because of hard candy's glass-like properties it is often used in movies when a wine glass or beer bottle is going to be smashed into one's head in a film. Usually, if you know ahead of time that a glass filled with liquid will be smashed, you can see the candy glass degenerating a bit. It will get milky, cloudy looking or start to melt a bit. I read they used to use sheets of candy for window panes that people would get thrown out of during a cowboy saloon fight. Now that they have glass that won't splinter they don't do that anymore.
Ah, trivia. What would I be without you?

I just want my candy to taste like it did when I was a kid. Whether it's Necco wafers or snickers or hershey kisses, I don't want them fudging with the recipe - which they did, BTW, with hershey kisses. Now Cadbury chocolate bars are getting fudged up, too. You want the good stuff you need to buy the imported Cadbury's from England. I used to go to Canada to get mine. bah!

English breakfast doesn't have hash brown potatoes. They have tomatoes. Their bacon tastes totally different than U.S. bacon. Tastes a bit "off" but I think it's because English bacon doesn't have so much salt and preservatives like the U.S.

Bacon, half cooked eggs, beans, tomatoes and toast. Maybe mushrooms... And the best hot tea in the world.

This tool belonged to Howard Hughes. He didn't like to touch things so he used these "graspers" to pick up stuff instead of using his hands. Some things are better left 'untouched'...

I got my dress caught in an escalator one time. Ripped it up real good, twisted me around and backwards and I nearly fell hands down on the grate. The store ended up paying for a new dress. I stay off those things, now.

I had a friend that was on an escalator and it broke apart and she fell down between the steps and broke her leg.

And I had a friend get shocked by lightning through her phone during a storm. She doesn't hear so well, now.
