The first house my parents bought was a small Cape Cod style home. In the livingroom my dad painted a mural on the largest wall. It was a rendition of Mt Fuji and it's landscape with flamingos flying in the air. It was painted over when we sold the house but I wish people could still see it. It was very cool and daring for the 1950's era.
I'd like this along with one of those table top juke boxes that you could find at some diners. You'd put in a dime or a quarter and then flip through the pages of song choices that would play at your table. There used to be so many of them and then one day they were gone. I've never seen them in antique shops or on line. I wonder where they went?
When I was 13 we had a huge snow storm. For hours I shovelled snow into a mound of snow. Packed it down good and then started carving a hole into it. I had a 'sleeping' area and carved shelves into the walls to hold drinks, books, snacks, etc and a small peep hole to check for imaginary intruders. I could easily sit up inside it because the 'igloo' was more than 5 feet tall. I put a rug inside and had my hot mug of cocoa and a couple of new comic books to read. As soon as I got comfy my german shepherd ran over and jumped on top of the mound collapsing it. Who's a good dog? Not mine, not that day.
I remember my dad pulling the car over on the side of highways and getting my brother and I out of the car to go poke around in the rock rubble that had been left after a highway had been completed. One time we found a very heavy brick shaped rock that had hundreds of fossils embedded in it. We kept that stone for decades. My love affair with fossils began on the side of a very busy highway.
No matter how much I love my cats I'm not spending 3,000+ on a cat user friendly bed frame that has an open top where the cats can jump down on me while sleeping.
Liquid blood and cloning? Nature has a way. Nature will not be denied. But we unnatural human beings are obsessed with challenging Nature just like Dr. Frankenstein or tampering with viruses and diseases. No experiment is off limits. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I love my gas stove. It heats/cooks things faster than electric stoves. I've had both over the years so I do have a preference. One of the best reasons, IMO, to have a gas stove is if the power goes out I can still cook food for the family (as long as I have matches!).
It's very nice in a crowded sort of way. I don't think I'd like the roof top bed, though. 4 people sleeping in that micro van? No thanks. I didn't see a price for this. Did I miss it?
