I went to Coney Island last Saturday, and got a Nathan's Famous Hot Dog. I ordered a bacon cheese dog, and got the awfullest pile of melted cheese and bacon bits you ever saw. The best dog I've ever had. Stuff like that will only kill you if you make a habit of it. Once in a blue moon, it's a real treat!
bean, it's not a shelter, it's a private veterinary hospital. They don't have dogs to give away. It's not a charity, but they have a connection to a private memorial foundation which help with vet care for those who cannot afford it.
My Asian daughters raised by white parents aren't doing as well in school as I did (but they are improving). There is only one other Chinese student in my older daughter's class, and he makes straight As. He also never goes to the movies, ballgames, or birthday parties. His only extracurricular activity is tutoring after school (as if he needs it). Otherwise, he spends all his time at his mother's restaurant, doing schoolwork.
I've seen gender-neutral signs here and there for years. I think in most states, they just replace them with the new language when the signs need to be replaced.
As far as the jobs go, this is a door that swings both ways. There was a hue and cry a couple of years ago about how the majority of college students are now women. People wondered if there was some discrimination toward men in admissions. When they looked at the situation up close, it turns out that men are less likely to go to college because they can get a decent-paying job without a degree. It's still hard for a woman to get someone to teach her how to run a backhoe. I told my daughters if they ever get the opportunity, go for it.
