My brother sent me a picture he took of a sign in a small town in Kentucky. I understand that office space is limited, and no one is suggesting that someone should move their offices, but maybe they could have found a more tactful way to point to them.
Although most superheroes could be diagnosed with a mental illness or two, Batman always seems to be a cornucopia of neuroses. When it was suggested to Kerry Callen that the Caped Crusader he may be a hoarder, he was inspired to write a comic about it. It's only two pages long, and what you see here isn't the only joke. Every month on the 11th, mental_floss runs a marathon of lists of eleven things. Since the date says 7/11, what could be more appropriate than facts about the convenience store known as 7-Eleven? The business started in 1927, although the name came later.
That was when Joe Thompson, an employee of the Southland Ice Company in Dallas, Texas, began selling eggs, milk, and bread from a makeshift storefront in one of the company’s icehouses. These bare necessities were kept cold thanks to the ice Southland produced, and local residents liked the convenience of avoiding the crowds and aisles of a regular grocery store if they only had to pick up a few items.
Thompson eventually bought out the ice company and started opening convenient little stores all over Texas.
Is there a 7-Eleven near you? They have a special treat for customers just because of the date. Read all 11 facts at mental_floss. Link

When you squeeze into your Speedo, you're not just baring your skin -you're celebrating centuries of technological breakthroughs.
3rd Century C.E. Sicilian mosaics depict women wearing bikini-like outfits to exercise, but all Roman swimming is done in the nude.
18th Century Women hit the beach in long formless smocks that hide their shapes. Some women sew lead weights in their hems to make sure the fabric doesn't rise and offs a scandalous glimpse of their calves.
1813 The next time you're lugging gear to the beach, be glad you're not living in the 17th or 18th century. Back then, beachgoers used bathing machines to protect their modesty. Swimmers would step fully dressed into horse-drawn cart topped with a hut. As the horse plodded out into the surf, the swimmer would change into his long-sleeved bathing suit. Only when the cart had reached a suitable distance from the shore would the swimmer emerge to frolic. When finished, he'd climb back into the cart and raise a flag to alert the cart's driver he was ready to head in. As the cart approached the beach, the swimmer would change back into street clothes and emerge on the sand looking dapper. Was this system a lot of trouble? You Bet! But it was a small price to pay to avoid baring the elbow.
1860 English waters banned men from swimming in the buff, giving rise to the striped knit bathing costume.
Mike Trapp at College Humor has a whole set of new marks we should just be able to slap over someone else's typing whenever someone is wrong on the internet. The misuse of the word "literally" gets under my skin, but the funniest part of the article is where you get to correct someone else's correction. Link
The picture and the request came in to the Korean Facebook page We Do Phoshop and said, "Please erase me so it looks like the baby is flying." And here's what they got:
Anyone who's been to the site before would know that these guys interpret such requests in their own way. The results are wonderfully silly! The site is in Korean, so Kotaku selected and translated some of the funniest for our amusement. Link
Look at this great picture of a bird in flight. But wait -he's not carrying anything, those are his big feet! This is a Jaçana, a tropical bird that lives in shallow lakes and wetlands. Those long toes are perfect for walking on lilypads and other floating vegetation, distributing the bird's weight across a fair-sized area. In fact, the Jaçana is sometimes called the "Jesus bird" for its ability to walk on water. Find out more, and see lots of pictures, at Ark in Space. Link -via the Presurfer
The minus5° Ice Bar is a bar made entirely out of ice- the bar itself, the walls, the glasses, and even the light fixtures. It's the coolest place in town, chilled to 23°F (which is -5°C, hence the name). Two locations serve Las vegas, and now another is open in New York City in the New York Hilton Midtown. If it's a little too cool, never fear, they provide customers with parkas. Link -via Laughing Squid
