I used to have what I thought were platonic friendships with the guys I worked with at various radio stations. I was married, so were some of them, and we had a lot in common with our profession -and spent a lot of time together. But as soon as I got a divorce, I found out that several of them were ready to swoop in on fresh meat.
Lots of people who can't see can play the piano and type because they learn where those keys are. In fact, I've heard that there are sighted people who can type without looking at the keyboard! I envy those folks...
It's not stated in this article, but I well remember when the winning design was chosen that some objected to the fact that the designer is of Asian descent.
