My kids went to parochial school, where they learned both typing and cursive. My older daughter has such good handwriting that she's made money addressing envelopes for wedding invitations and making calligraphy signs.

Ten-year-old me was so proud to wear the first Nehru jacket (as a shirt) in fifth grade. It was brown, orange, and yellow paisley, and I'd found it on one of those rare shopping trips to Knoxville. Everyone wanted to know where I found it, because there were none in town.

Spoiler: Don't miss the "rescue squad" video. They eventually lifted the drum platform and walked him across to the working platform to bring him down. He immediately sat down at the drums and sang a song for the rescuers.

Treating the numbers that we label years with as "technical" numbers is a losing game. It doesn't work like counting money. Maybe it would if there were ever a year zero, which there wasn't. If a year is labeled as a "twenty," like 2020, it will always be considered one of "the twenties."

Strange, I don't ever remember finding a cat whisker while sweeping or cleaning. Probably just didn't notice. But today, after I posted this, I found one! It was near the modem, which the cats tend to sit on.
