Little Mason is all tuckered out. But rest is for the weak, especially when there's ice cream to be devoured.

Literacy PSA

The nonprofit organization Burning through the Pages has one mission, and it's a good one:

In a time of overwhelming technology and mindless entertainment, we want to get books into the hands of young adults based on what they love and are passionate about, in the hope that they will become active readers and find sanctuary in the limitless stories and ideas found in literature.

To promote this objective, it hired artist Mike Andereck to create this excellent poster.

Happy Sun Pancakes

The best thing about these kid breakfast crafts, like the Bunny Bottom Pancakes and the Teddy Bear Toast, is that non-crafty people can make them easily. The sunny pancakes by Michele Borboa are a great example.

May the Forth be with you.

Some Jedi apprentices begin training at the age of six. But once in a while, a candidate of prodigious talent appears. This toddler is one of them. She can barely walk, but she can defeat even the formidable Darth Maul in battle.

To Clarify: The Mother Is on the Left and the Father Is on the Right

A friend of redditor ddrt had a pregnancy photo shoot with his wife. I hope that these images go into their baby book.

Why should you take these shots? Because someday your child will be a teenager. And you can show these pictures to her friends in order to embarrass her.

The Most Amazing Playgrounds in the World

Monstrum, a Danish architecture firm, specializes in imaginative playgrounds. Their design principles are "visual design, motor challenges and safety." Yada, yada, safety. Whatever. They look amazing! This one in Copenhagen looks like the buildings are coming alive. Think about the fantasy adventures it could spark in the mind of a child.

Or, well, honestly, a middle-aged man who's too old to play on playgrounds, but could have fun on this one. I'll admit that.

View more of Monstrum's playgrounds at the link.

Wiimote Pinewood Derby Car

The daughter of blogger Robb Allen made this clever Pinewood Derby car shaped like a Wii Remote. He writes, "...I routed and helped her paint, but she did most of the rest." Is it an aerodynamic design? No, but it's cool.

Child Safety (Temporary) Tattoos

Imagine that you're taking a five-year old to a state fair. He runs off into the crowd. You can't find him; he can't find you.

Well, Beckie of Infarrantly Creative has a fun idea that could help. Tag your child with a temporary tattoo featuring your cell phone number. She has a template, which you can find at the link. Apparently there's such a thing as temporary tattoo paper, and you can run it through a regular inkjet printer. That's the only thing you'll need to purchase to implement Beckie's plan.

Luxury Baby Jacuzzi

When your baby first sees that plastic tub that you picked up at Walmart for $15, he'll wonder if he was accidentally switched at the hospital. A more refined choice is this ceramic whirlpool bath by BluBlue. Sure, it's $3,200, but that's the price you have to pay to keep up with the Jonses' baby.

Bunny Bottom Pancakes

"He dug a hole, but he had dug only a little of it when Frith came over the hill alone. And he saw El-ahrairah's buttom sticking out of the hole and the sand flying out in showers as the digging went on. When he saw that, he called out, 'My friend, have you seen El-ahrairah, for I am looking for him to give him my gift?' 'No,' answered El-ahrairah, without coming out, 'I have not seen him, He is far away. He could not come.' So Frith said, 'Then come out of that hole and I will bless you instead of him.' 'No, I cannot,' said El-ahrairah, 'I am busy. The fox and the weasel are coming. If you want to bless me you can bless my bottom, for it is sticking out of the hole.'"

Easter is over, so mark the Blessing of El-ahrairah with these pancakes by Farmlife Chick. They'll be a fine complement to the bunny face pancakes.

13-Year Old Stops a School Bus After the Driver Passes Out

(Video Link)

The driver of a school bus in Fife, Washington had a heart attack while driving. The bus began careening down the road and might have crashed disastrously, if not for the quick thinking of 13-year old Jeremy Wuitschick. He jumped in the front seat and brought the bus to a full stop.

The video above is pretty amazing. Jeremy really did respond instantly and intelligently despite being taken completely by surprise. The time between the driver's heart attack and Jeremy has his hands on the wheel is under ten seconds.

9-Year Old Builds Arcade from Cardboard Boxes, Gets Flash Mobbed

(Video Link)

Caine had the summer to hang out in the back of his father's auto part store. He was bored, but he was also creative.

Caine loved arcades. He couldn't pass by one without stopping inside to play. So he built one inside the store.

Oh, it was just cardboard boxes, cut up and taped up. But they were reasonable approximations of arcade gaming cabinets. It was time to open for business!

Got a dollar? That'll earn you four games. Got two? Then you get a Fun Pass! That's five hundred games.

Still, no one was interested, except for one man who needed a new door handle for his car. Independent filmmaker Nirvan Mullick knew a bargain when he saw it and bought a Fun Pass immediately. He also used his connections to drum up some business for Caine. This is the story of how he did it.

How to Make Bunny Pancakes

Before I looked at the tutorial, I tried to figure out how Jenni Price made these amazing pancakes. How do you make one pancake multiple colors?

Here's what you do: apply your batter with squeezable bottles. Do so while the griddle is still cold. This lets you create an outline for your rabbit face, which you can then fill in while the pancakes are warming.
