This Cat Tried to Eat a Snake and Got More Than She Bargained For

Cats are known for their hunting skills, but that doesn't mean they always know what they're doing. This little kitty found out the hard way that hunting is not always as easy as it seems.

Unfortunately for Marianne, she ate the snake from the tail end and the snake saw a convenient hole to escape in, which happened to be her nose. Marianne's humans were there to help remove the snake, but while the kitty was obviously happy about having the snake pulled from its nose, the snake didn't survive the encounter.

This Snake is All Smiles

Justine Kobylka is a snake breeder who specializes in making creatures with new and fascinating scale patterns. Her newest creation took eight years to perfect, and it has made her quite famous on the internet as she created a snake adorned with emojis.

A lot of people dislike snakes, whether because they think they look gross, because they aren't cuddly or because they don't seem as loving as other pets, but these smiley pythons might change some of those perceptions (though they still won't feel very cuddly).

The Polish Village Covered in Flowers

Zalipie is a small town in Poland that has a strange and beautiful tradition of painting flowers on just about everything -dating back from the 1800s.

Of course, like all traditions, it had to start somewhere. In this case, it was because the locals started getting new furnaces with chimneys in the 1800s and women decided to cover up blackened walls in their homes with floral paintings. Eventually the tradition spread to other areas of the home and even outside the homes and now it seems the whole town is covered in flowers.

Even the trees have flowers painted on them!

See more pictures of Zalipie's floral paintings over at Travel and Leisure.

This Kitty Just Found the Best Toy in History

(Video Link)

This little kitty just wanted to play, but her pup buddy was ignoring her -so she found a new fun toy to play with instead. Surprisingly, the dog doesn't seem to mind all that much even though it seems like biting and scratching on the testicles might be a little uncomfortable at the very least.

Guy Makes Custom Hats for Toad That Shows Up on His Porch Nightly

Chris Newsome noticed that night after night, the same toad kept showing up on his porch. He loved seeing his toad friend every day and decided to help improve the little guy's life by adding a little flair to his style by making him stylish foam hats.

The toad kept coming back after he gave him the first hat, so Chris kept making him new hats every day.

Maybe the toad liked getting to play dress up or maybe he just liked having a friend to hang out with every day, but either way, the two certainly have a strange and wonderful relationship.

The Single Best Thing in Every State

We've posted a lot of articles featuring the best ______ in any given state, but all of those focus on a specific subject. If you've ever wondered what the absolute best thing in any given state is, you won't wanna miss this Thrillist article. I can't attest to most other states since I haven't lived in them, but the Pacific Coast Highway might very well be the best thing in California. And from what I've seen of Arizona, the Grand Canyon is pretty up there. And Maine lobster is pretty amazing too, though you don't actually have to go to Maine to enjoy it.

So check out the best thing about each state here and be sure to debate the accuracy in the comments section.

This Parrot Can Perfectly Imitate a Baby

(Video Link)

This parrot must be around a baby 24/7 because he sure has all of those cries and wines down. To test how accurate his sounds are, I made sure to crank the volume up to see if my dog noticed -he is fascinated by baby cries. Sure enough, he sure fell for it, so it must be dead on.

What do you parents think about the bird's impression? Dead on, or dead wrong?

Do you feel like you would have made a great witch or wizard if you just got that damned Hogwarts acceptance letter? Well good news! The Bothwell School of Witchcraft is now enrolling for a short, weekend-long course in August. Classes will take place in the Herstmoncuex castle in East Sussex and aside from teaching guests potions and necromancy, the school will also help students solve a murder mystery -which they obviously know about in advance thanks to the ancient art of divination.

You can learn more about the program on their website.

The Wonderfully Nerdy Shoes of Orion's Originals

These sweet Star Wars shoes might not match, but they go together perfectly. That's because they were designed and assembled by one-of-a-kind Etsy shoe seller Orion's Originals

Their shoes aren't all inspired by Star Wars -nor are they all heels. These light-up Ghostbusters sneakers look like they've been covered in ectoplasma. In other words, they've been slimed.

And these mermaid shoes have a wedge perfectly shaped like a curvy tail that is sure to make the wearer happy to have legs to put them on.

Check out the rest of Orion's Originals shoes here.
