10 Animals Who Can Talk

Most of us find it impressive to see a dog that knows more than a handful of basic commands, but that's small potatoes compared to these amazing animals who can actually speak. Take N'kisi (the parrot above), for example, who has a vocabulary of more than 950 words and has a basic understanding of verb tenses.

In a story told by Jane Goodall, after seeing a photo of the acclaimed primatologist, N'kisi had the opportunity to meet her in person, whereupon he looked at her and asked, "Got a chimp?"

And that's only one critter of the 10 amazing talking ones on the list over at Oddee.

Celebrating A Baby's Birthday With Awesome Gamer Pics

What do you get your one year old baby if you want to make sure they'll actually remember the present when they get older? How about a great set of photos that put him in the lead role of some of today's top video games.

The pics were taken by proud geek papa Ben Stirling, who obviously loves gaming almost as much as he loves his little baby boy.

They're kind of like those photos we saw last month showing the baby starring in top films only this time the parents aren't there and the pics are all photoshop, no actual props -which makes more sense for gaming anyway.

Learn to Make Your Own Super Bowl Snack Stadium

We've featured snack stadiums on Neatorama before, but we've never actually talked about how to make them because up until now we never knew how. But thanks to Neatorama fan Heather Arment of A Lil' Curious, we can make our own this year.

The great thing about learning how to make your own snack stadium is that it means you can fill it with all your favorite snacks, so while I think Heather's stadium looks absolutely delicious, I think I would find a way to add in some ranch dip and spinach dip to compliment the bread and veggies.

17 Absolutely Stunning Bookcases and Bookshelves

Like to read? Then you inevitably need a good bookshelf or bookcase to hold all your great literature. Over at Homes & Hues, we have a great round up on some of the most beautiful book storage options available to you -like the 3D stylized Rocky Credenza above.

This Library Tree Branch by Oliver Dolle reflects the relationship books have with trees and provides them with an environment reminsent of the one they came from. Of course, you don't have to put leaves all over your floor to emphasize the point.

We didn't include any bookshelves we previously wrote about on Homes and Hues, so if you missed the Balance Bookshelf or the Bloom, be sure to check them out as well.

Protect Your Battle Cat With This Leather Suit of Armor

Is your kitty a little gladiator? Then celebrate her purrfect killing methods with this fantastic suit of armor made by Etsy seller schnabuble. Finally, she can become a "unstoppable force for slaughter" like she's always dreamed of.

I can't help but wonder how this armor will hold up against the guinea pig suit of armor that was one of the most viral stories on the internet last year. After all, the cat is obviously a better warrior, but I believe the metal armor would be better when it comes to protection. And before anyone gets all riled up, no, I don't think cats and guinea pigs should get in fights -I'm just curious how the armors would hold up against one another.

The Meaning of the Names of All Fifty States

Ever wonder what Alaska, California or Iowa means? Well, Like Cool can help you better understand what your state name means, along with any of the other states...well, that is assuming you don't live in one of the states that's colored grey as the historical record on those names is a little fuzzy.

Even the grey ones still have some explanations though, it's just that the stories behind those meanings aren't as clear. So, what do you think of your state's name now that you know the story?

Bananas Foster Cheesecake Bars

Bananas foster is a magical dessert filled with banana liqeuer, bananas, caramel flavor and rum. So what happens when you combine that fantastic flavor with cheesecake? Pure dessert bliss.

And you can learn to make these rich banana-laden treats for yourself thanks to the Frugal Foodie Mama. Don't worry if you're not much of a chef either, as this recipe is based off of Nestle's Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Kit.

Of course, it goes without saying that a little Nutella would make it even better, but hey, not everyone's as Nutella-obsessed as the rest of us.

A Desk When You Need It A Chic Stereo When You Don't

The Podpad is a desk, storage space, charging station and stereo in one. When you need it, you can fold down the bottom compartment and use it as a desk for your laptop. Open the right cabinet and you have a storage space -the one up top is built to store books, files and magazines as well.

When you aren't actively using the desk or storage areas, the whole thing folds up into a chic looking wall accessory. The center can hold your iPhone or iPod to charge it and provide a stereo system.

A Baby Skunk In Pajamas Cuddling With A Toy Sloth

Ultimately, the title says everything you need to know about these photos -they show an adorable baby skunk in pajamas cuddling with a sloth toy. But, if you want to know why said baby skunk happens to be in pajamas, there is a story behind it.

Stunky here belongs to Redditor KalisCoraven. The seven month old skunk just had surgery and wouldn't leave her stitches alone, but skunks can't wear cones like dogs and cats so the vet suggested KalisCoraven put her in a dog diaper and a baby's onesie so she couldn't reach the stitches. As for cuddling with the sloth toy -that's just because Stunky is the cutest thing ever.

Getting to Know Alternative Bananas

So you may have already heard that the banana we've all come to love, the Cavendish, is likely to become endangered during our lifetimes thanks to the highly contagious Panama Disease. While that stinks, it doesn't mean the end of bananas all together. Instead, we'll just switch to a new cultivar like our grandparents did when they moved from the Gros Michel to the Cavendish.

So what are our options banana-wise? WebEcoist has the answer with a rundown of 7 different bananas we all might be eating in the near future. The ones above are the ae ae bananas that grow in Hawaii and Florida. I don't know how they taste, but they sure look cool.
