Love comic book and sci fi heroines but wish they were more trashy an predictable? Then you'll love these wonderful pop culture book covers by Tony Fleecs that feature everyone from Harley Quinn to Princess Leia.
The great thing about these creations is that no matter what you consider brainless and trashy, these fake novels would ccertainly qualify in the best possible way.
If you have ever lived in or even seen a truly small studio apartment, you know that many don't have kitchens because there's simply no room. But if you ever have to live in such a space (or decide to go squat in an old office building that has no kitchen), now you can get around the frustrating problem of not being able to cook for yourself thanks to The Kochinsel byRemo Zimmerli, a small, rolling kitchen complete with an oven and stove that have their own small gas tank to keep them going strong without being anchored to your wall.
We've featured Remo Zimmerli's work before on Homes and Hues, since we also loved his brilliant Living Cube. The designer certainly knows how to work to maximize the space within small homes and if you have a Living Cube and a Kochinsel, you've got pretty much everything you need in an entire apartment.
Doctor Who fans know they will never get the chance to become a companion to a real life mad man in a box, but it can still be difficult when you just know you'd be great company for a 900 year-old time-traveling alien. So while you may never actually get to spend time with The Doctor, you can at least drink yourself into another time and space with Doctor Who Cocktails, a website focused exclusively on its namesake.
Above is the fish fingers and custard, which never sounded so good as it does in cocktail form -with eggnog, bourbon, vanilla vodka and butterscotch schnapps topped with cookies and Swedish fish. Yummy!
The Brooklyn Botanical Garden isn't just a great place to find real beautiful plants, it also features fantastic craft versions of real botanical specimens -or at least it does now thanks to the Knit, Purl, Sow exhibit.
The show features 21 artworks by three different crafty artists, including Rhode Island artist Tatyana Yanishevsky, New York–based Australian artist Ruth Marshall, and textile artist Santiago Venegas. Unfortunately, it's only scheduled to last until the 22, so if you live in New York and want to see the show, you'd better get out there this weekend.
We've featured plenty of the gourmet Japanese Doritos on Neatorama, but that's because they are totally weird and potentially delicious. The newest limited edition flavor is the shrimp mayonnaise, which sounds weird, but when you consider that many great dips and sandwich toppings use seafood and mayonaise as a base. And a rich seafood flavor of Doritos might just be the closest you'll get to buttered lobster.
If you want to try these shrimpy treats for yourself, you'd better get to Japan before they're pulled from the shelves by Mid-March.
When people hear "service dog," they usually think of guide dogs for the blind, but Xander here is blind himself. Even so, he's one heck of a service dog, helping abused children and women work past their emotional problems with his sweet hugs and adorable face.
According to his owner, Rodney Beedy,"A lot of times he’ll hear a child crying at an event and he’s bolted several times, at least 500 feet over to this child to comfort them." Even without the use of sight, Xander gets around really well, following Rodney around without any need for a leash.
Aside from everything else, he looks great in a suit too.

Every now and then, you see a recipe title that is filled with words you just can't enjoy enough. That was certainly the case when I saw these S'mores Waffle Sliders by Mom on Timeout (who also brought us these great Chicken and Waffle sliders). What's really great too is that while you could easily just combine mini waffles, toasted marshmallows and chocolate to make these amazingly delicious snacks, she went the extra mile to dip the top waffle in chocolate making them look that much more delicious and decadent. I don't know about you guys, but I know what I'll be having for breakfast this weekend.
Even if you don't think you could ever afford your own home cinema, they're still fun to think about -especially when the room comes designed with an awesomely geeky theme that can really help you get into your favorite flick. We featured a few good scifi home theaters in an article a few weeks ago, but the newest Homes and Hues article is focused exclusively on geektastic home cinemas.
Whether you like Jules Verne, Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider or even just high tech video and audio equipment, you're sure to see something right up your alley in this great piece.
There are a lot of homes feauting polyhedrons in Japan right now, but few of them really take advantage of the shape like the Monoclinic byAtelier Tekuto. This intriguing building uses striking angles and massive windows to make the space look drastically larger and more open than it is. Plus, the large windows at the front let residents feel like they're enjoying nature as they look at trees, sun and sky in the middle of this suburban area.
If you like houses with these types of drastic angles, you may also enjoy these Homes and Hues spotlights:
