This House Is Made Largely From Recycled Telegraph Poles

Malaysia's telegraph poles have been torn down in recent years, which provided WHBC Architects with a delightful option when their British clients requested their new Malaysian home be constructed with reclaimed wood.

Aside from offering the perfect strength and size for the home's support structures, they also provide a unique look as the aged wood has developed a thick patina after being exposed to the elements over the years.

The open plan home allows for ample natural ventilation, allowing the home to remain comfortably cool without any air conditioner use.

A Historical Renovation Shows the Beauty of Modern and Traditional Design

The Gabriel Apartment is a palace servants' quarter that has been converted into a private residence. While the traditional 19th century Ottoman style of the unit is lovely, the residents needed the property to be fixed up and modernized for their newest lifestyle.

One of the central accents of the apartment were the historical frescoes, which the architect managed to enhance by removing the white plaster of the apartment to reveal more natural lighting. The architects also maintained the original wooden floors, though they cleared out the ceiling so all that remained was the wooden support beams.

The end result is sleek and beautiful, yet rustic and traditional.

The Ikea-Furnished Apartment You Can Climb Around In

You may like to hang out, but you've probably never hung out quite like this. The madness you see before you is a clever idea by Ikea and communication agency Ubi Bene to advertise the newest Ikea in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Aside from the hand holds, everything in the apartment is furnished byt the famous furniture store and the vertical apartment is entirely furnished, featuring everything from a kid's bed to a coffee pot in the kitchen area.

If you ever dreamed of living in the world of Inception, this might be the closest you'll ever get to sitting in a vertical living room.

Dyson Aims to Take Out the Roomba

Roombas are a great idea in theory, but having a vacuum that doesn't work all that well bump around the walls isn't as great as the idea of a robotic vacuum. That's why Dyson has been working on their own robotic vacuum for over 16 years. The Dyson 360 Eye uses the pattented Dyson cyclone technology to really step up the cleaning power of the device. It also has a 360 degree camera that records where the device has already cleaned and where there are obstacles to block its path. The result is a better, more efficient robotic vacuum -exactly what you'd expect from the Dyson company.

The fantastic remodel included a change to an open plan kitchen and living space that open up to the grassy backyard that lines the marina.
