Earth Day is next Wednesday and to celebrate, Homes and Hues rounded up some of the coolest upcycled and recycled pieces available on Etsy. From lighting to vases and from benches to sinks, all of these items are earth-friendly in that they take advantage of materials that may otherwise have been headed for the scrapyard.
Because the items are all made from old materials, you could even buy based on your interests whether that's skiing, skateboarding, reading, biking or enjoying a nice glass of wine.
With over 170 episodes, it's understandable that some fans haven't seen all the episodes of Seinfeld no matter how many times they've been syndicated since their original air date. If you've never seen "The Puerto Rican Day" though, you might have missed it due to censorship. In fact, due to complaints about negative portrayals of Puerto Ricans and a burning Puerto Rican flag, the episode was banned completely between its original air date in 1999 and 2002. Even now though, some stations who syndicate the show won't touch it.
And that Seinfeld episode is only one of 27 episodes from popular TV shows that were banned temporarily for one reason or another. Perhaps the strangest of all was the Peppa Pig episode that shows kids that spiders are our friends. It was banned in Australia because the deadly spiders there are most certainly not your friend.
Last July, Alex shared the gorey image of Steven Speilberg sitting beside one of his newest kills. Animal activists were rightly outraged by the killing of such a rare and beautiful creature. As if that wasn't bad enough, now one Redditor has shared these images of a poor, bound T-rex being towed down the road as though it's just a big hunk of plastic.
Will the madness ever stop?!? End dinosaur cruelty!
I love my little 20-pound pooch, but saying "he's a handful" is a complete understatement. In fact, I have to head to Home Depot later today to grab materials to fix my back fence that he's totally torn up. Just look at that smug face he made when I caught him blogging under my name.
And, of course, I'm not alone in having a pet that's a total jerk. This recent AskReddit thread is filled with pet parents sharing their "my pet is a dick" stories and the responses are hilarious -and they might just make you feel better about your own little devil. For example:
"On the few days i get to sleep in, if my cat decides his breakfast is too late he has learned to wake me up for it. Early on, i apparently learned to sleep through his MRROOOOOOOWs by the bedside; as time went by, i learned to roll over & ignore him when he'd bat at me with his paws...
...so he's learned to get me up the one way i can't sleep through: he'll take a single claw & drag it very gently over my eyelid. it doesn't hurt at all, but i'm hard-pressed to think of a more peculiar feeling."
Or...
"My Siberian husky has this stuffed animal that he looooves. He's real protective of it. One morning I'm laying down and he comes up to me with his toy, he drops it on my chest... Realizes I have it then proceeds to bite me for being in possession of his precious toy...that he gave me."
If you think you have stories that would put these to shame though, go ahead and share them in the comments.
The article is on Reddit, so be prepared for plenty of language that's NSFW.
From superheroes to Whovians and from readers to gamers, the pictures are all utterly adorable and remind us that being a parent means starting your young one on a path to success.
Most ladies like to have a purse to carry their things in, but for geek gals, sometimes a simple black bag isn't enough of a fashion statement. For you ladies, may I suggest a dragon's egg purse from Prissy Kitty Designs?

If you couldn't tell just by reading the blog, it's fair to say that most of the writers on Neatorama are big fans of Doctor Who. So, like most Whovians, we've been left to wonder what exactly caused the rift between Christopher Eccleston and the producers of the show given that Eccleston says he loved playing The Doctor and he was quite popular among fans.
Well, if you've been wondering the same thing, you can finally put your mind at ease. According to Christopher Eccleston, his choice to play the Doctor with his natural accent (he's from Manchester) was what drove him and showrunner Russell T. Davies apart. The actor claims Northern accents like his are looked down upon and that people consider those with those accents to sound less intelligent. Eccleston wanted to challenge these views while playing what is arguably the most famous character in all of England, but Davies was against it from the start.
Without hearing Davies' version of the story, it's hard to say if this is absolute truth or just Eccleston's take, but it is notable that the writers made a number of jokes about David Tennant's Doctor having a Northern accent after he replaced Eccleston.
Of course, now there are fans complaining that they can't understand a word that the very Scottish Peter Capaldi says, so I guess there's just no pleasing everyone.
The brave John Farrier previously brought us footage of Wallace the Mad Bunny King, but we had no idea how crazed this king had become. After watching the Game of Thrones premiere, Wallace went into a rage and destroyed the cardboard keep in between nibbles of his carrot throne. As his most trusted advisor explains, "In the end, when Wallace looked around and saw what his insane hunger had wrought, his joy definitely turned to ashes in his mouth."
Are those pretzels making you thirsty? Will you only eat a marbled rye from Schnitzer's? Do you secretly wonder if horses actually love Beef-A-Reeno? If so, you're probably a Seinfeld fan (and if not, those last three questions probably sound like nonsense).
For those that love the show about nothing, food has a special role in the universe of pointlessness. A mention of muffin tops doesn't bring to mind love handles, but the thought of whole trashbags of muffin stumps.
For a complete rundown of every food reference in the show, this extensive Flavorwire article is a must-read -and it might just make you hungry for a Big Salad.
I have always been a fan of cherry tomatoes, even as a kid when I couldn't seem to eat one without spraying a trail of seeds all over the place. Apparently, I'm not alone as this little squirrel also seems to have troubles eating the sweet, round fruit despite the imense difficulty he is having.
Nature is a beautiful but terrifying place and in most places, the more off the grid you go, the more danger you're likely to encounter. The hiking trails featured on this TopTenz article prove that getting back to nature also means getting back to the danger, whether that means rough terrain, deadly heights, or terrifying bridges.
We love our reader's pets, which is why when fan Jenn Hyland posted this picture in response to our Facebook post featuring Pug-ster eggs, I was all too excited to share her little babies with everyone.
Here's Kelekona's first Halloween costume.
And here's her cheer-ful second Halloween costume.
You can tell she was a hit by how many candies she got -especially those precious full-sized bars.
Kelekona traded in the cheer uniform for some pig skin for her third Halloween, when she was joined by Kaika, who celebrated her first Halloween in stripe-tastic style.
Nowadays, the duo doesn't just dress up for Halloween. Here they are in some sweet summer duds as part of an apartment wide costume contest.
Thanks to Jenn for letting us share her beautiful little lizards -and for anyone out there who wants to see their favorite pet on the site, feel free to send your photos to jill@neatorama.com!
Are you counting the minutes until the new season of Game of Thrones airs? Well, I can't make that happen any sooner, but I can make you giggle in the meanwhile. This set of charts on Buzzfeed will only make sense to Game of Thrones Fans, but if you get them, you're bound to enjoy them.
Little Rupert was taken in by the International Primate Rescue when he was just four weeks old. It was there that he met his best friend, a big, fluffy cat named William. He was later seperated from William so he could be introduced to other fennecs, but here the two are reunited and as you can see, it feels so good.
