Artist Heropain created this image of Boba Fett carrying Grumpy Cat and managed to work in about a dozen other geek references from sources as varied as Iron Man, The Wizard of Oz, The Jetsons and Mortal Kombat. How many can you recognize?
It might not be alive, but the Walking Ched burger from Zombie Burger is certainly dangerous. It's also incredibly alluring, featuring not only two beef patties topped with cheddar cheese slices, bacon and macaroni and cheese, but also a bun that is made out of deep-fried bundles of macaroni and cheese.
Game companies put a lot of thought into how their consoles will look, ensuring they look slick and futuristic enough to impress gamers while still taking up minimal entertainment cabinet space. But not everyone is ok with having a console that looks just like everyone else's.
One Extra Pixel has a great collection of console mods, including this amazing PS3 laptop by Ben Heck.
Buzzfeed recently sent a few of their staff members to check out the Eastern States Hedgehog Show in La Plata, MD and report their findings. The resulting 40 lessons from the show, and their accompanying photos, are pretty much the epitome of adorability. For example, the image above illustrates that "hedgies look great in hats."
Food blogger Emily Bites seems to be a gal after our hearts. After all, she not only found a way to make risotto with beer, cheese and bacon, but it's even relatively low in calories (only 280 a serving). You can learn her secret over at the link and if you make some, save some for me and John.
Strike that, the minions ARE the phone box, or at least one of them is. The others seem to just be sitting around watching. This delightfully geektastic mash up cake was brought to you by the Bunny Baker, aka Aila Sim-Yonzon, who also designed this wonderful Game of Thrones cake.
I don't know about you guys, but I've always wanted to make friends with an otter. Thanks to Keikyu Aburatsubo Marine Park in Kanagawa, Japan, this dream can now become a reality. From July 13th through September 13th of 2013, the park is allowing parties of up to 10 to enter a special backstage area where they can dip their fingers in smelt extract in order to receive a handshake from an otter.
It might seem a little fishy, but when it comes to meeting an otter, you know it's worth it.
These days, there are plenty of cat and dog cafes in Japan. I've even heard of one with lizards and turtles for those who want some cold-blooded company. But Japanese business owner Rena Kawaguchi is taking things even further, by making a cafe that is also home to two goats. She says she even hopes to open an elephant cafe one day, but let's hope that building is a heck of a lot bigger than this one.
A few days ago, we saw Peter Dinklage having a bit of fun with a cosplaying fan at a convention and here's another great example of what fun can occur during celebrity photo time at conventions. Carrie Fisher might love this Han, but it still must be hard for her to move beyond their height differences.
Sure, He-Man and She-Ra and a few of the others stayed close after elementary school, but the rest of the gang sort of drifted off, many of them going on to try to take over the world. My favorite detail about this great picture by Patrick Ballestros is the little tiny Orko toy in the foreground.
Having a hard time deciding between the fresh, summery delights of a blueberry pie and the classic, brown-sugary goodness of a pineapple upside down cake? Well, why settle for one or the other when you can have a blueberry upside down cake instead?
Of course, if you really want to get crazy, you could always add a few pineapple slices on top of the blueberries.
I have nothing against Aquaman. Really, he has some pretty awesome powers. Even so, he's been the butt of everyone's joke for years now and there doesn't seem to be any sign of that stopping soon.
In fact, McAfee recently ran a search to discover the superhero that links to the most sites filled with malware, and it turns out that Aquaman is the most toxic superhero to search for on your computer. Mr. Fantastic is a close second, followed by The Hulk, Wonder Woman and Daredevil.
Does your favorite superhero rank high in the virus list? Find out at the link.
You wouldn't want poor little Kumba to have to hang out all alone, would you? Well, don't worry, she has plenty of friends who like to dangle around with her, even if they can't fly the way she can.
Samoas, and all the rest of the Girl Scout line up are great, but on a hot day, you don't want a cookie, you want a frozen treat. Besides, Girl Scout cookie season is long over and even the official ice cream flavors are out of the stores all ready. If you still have a hankering for a nice, refreshing Samoa though, you can always just make your own thanks to My Baking Addiction's recipe for a Samoa popsicle.
Nail blog Peace Love and Lacquer is hosting a Comic Con week nail art challenge amongst a number of nail art blogs and Dipped in Lacquer has already managed to create these Mario nails, which are sure to impress any fan of retro games.
