A Preview of Some of the Craziest Foods at the San Diego Fair

The San DiegoFair doesn't start until June 2, but journalists already got a sneak peak of some of the amazingly strange snacks that will be offered this year at a media preview last week. Naturally, the legendary Chicken Charlie's was there in full force, this year offering a Krispy Kreme ice cream chicken sandwich that features fried chicken, ice cream inside a Krispy Kreme donut all topped with syrup and Fruity Pebbles.

But while we expect strange things from Chicken Charlies, some of the more outrageous treats were far more surprising -like the ninja pizza cupcakes that feature tomato spice cake, caramel marscapone buttercream and candied pepperoni.

And while fried octopus might not be that outrageous, the decoration for this display advertising the seafood snack is all too entertaining.

The Craziest Post Offices in the World

An underwater post office seems like something from science fiction, but it's actually a real place in the small island nation of Vanuatu -and that's only one of ten crazy post offices located across the globe. Also strange is the world's only floating post office, that only serves freighters traversing the Detroit River. If you like things a little more old school, you might enjoy the post office in Peach Springs, Arizona that delivers mail with a mule team to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Believe it or not though, those three examples aren't even the most out of this world post offices around.

So check out the full list of ten crazy post offices on TopTenz.

20 of the Craziest Burgers from Around the World

If you believe a burger is made up of a ground beef patty and two buns, then you might just consider these burger monstrosities pure blasphemy. But if you like extreme food creations you might consider these to be right up your alley. Some of these are pretty simple concepts that most people might be open to -like the Hawaiian burger with pineapple and ham on it, but others ask the diner to keep a very open mind -like the bogan burger that features steak, chicken schnitzel, a potato cake, bacon, egg, cheese, onion and even a slice of beet. No matter how brave you are though, I somehow doubt you'll be willing to try the beyond outrageous garbage burger that has over 20 ingredients, including five cheeses, peanut butter, peppers, marinara sauce, ice cream hot fudge and a cherry on top (read all the 20 ridiculous ingredients here).

Thanks to Food Republic for the great infographic.

The Perfect Accessory for a Fancy Picnic

Love a good picnic with a lot of class? Then you won't want to miss out on this wine and cheese table that easily sits right in the ground and provides support for a bottle, two glasses and a plate -ideally for your cheese or chocolate pairing. Sure it's easy enough to throw down a blanket and put your bottle and plate of snacks on the ground, but those wine glasses are always problematic at picnics and at the beach. This clever table solves that problem by hanging them off of the ground where they won't tumble over.

They are available for sale on Faircraft USA's Etsy page.

Women Describe the Worst Case of Mansplaining They Have Been Subject To

Some men still deny that mansplaining is a real thing or that even if it does exist, that it's a problem, but those men obviously have never had someone assume they were completely ignorant on a subject based solely on their gender.

For those still unconvinced that mansplaining is real, Twitter user @NicholeFroio asked other women to post the most obvious thing that was ever mansplained to them and the results are beyond depressing.

There's a great round up of the responses on Buzzfeed and things men felt they had to explain to women include a man telling a woman her name was spelled wrong, multiple men telling women they didn't know the basics of the thing the woman had an advanced degree in, and men telling women how female bodies work.

So check out more of the responses here

This Woman Unknowingly Wore Her Engagement Ring Around Her Neck for a Year

The Huffington Post recently shared the story of an Australian man named Terry who made his girlfriend a necklace out of wood for their one year anniversary. What he didn't tell her was that inside the necklace was an engagement ring.

His girlfriend wore the necklace for a whole year and a half before Terry decided to propose. When he did, he asked her to hand him the necklace so he could take a picture of it. Then he used a knife to open the secret latch to reveal the engagement ring inside. She said yes immediately, but it took her a moment before she realized that she had been wearing the ring around her neck the whole time.

Pickle Popsicles and Pickle Soda Are Just What You Need This Summer

Looking for something a little refreshing this summer? Then head to your local novelty popsicle shop (that has to be a thing, right?) and pick up a Van Holten pickle popsicle

Or do you like your pickles a little less cold with a little fizz? Then maybe you need one of these pickle juice sodas from Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop. Sure, you could just drink regular pickle juice, but it lacks all that delightful carbonation you know you've always needed in your pickle juice.

Have Your Been Storing Your Champagne in the Fridge? Stop It

It's pretty common for liquor and grocery stores to keep champagne in the refrigerator section and many people buy champagne and store it in their fridge from the moment they get home until they drink it. The problem? Well, unless you drink the champagne within three or four days of putting it in the refrigerator, you're actually ruining your sparkling investment.

The science is sound too. The cold, humidless air in the refrigerator dries out the cork, which might not release enough air to let the bubbles get away, but it does release enough air to oxidize the champagne and change the flavor.

So what are you supposed to do? Either put your champagne in the fridge the day before you're ready to drink it or put it in a bucket of cold ice 15-20 minutes before drinking.

Read more about it in the Huffington Post.

All the Books to Read Before the Upcoming Movies Based on Them Are Released

We all know by now that Hollywood has too few ideas of their own -which is one of many reasons why they make so many movies based on books. The good thing is that most books are better than the movie remake anyway, so if you don't want to wait for the next Hollywood release, you can just read the story ahead of time and probably find something more enjoyable anyway. So want to get a jump on the 2017 movie releases? Then check out this list of all the books they are based on and then head to your local bookstore (or Amazon).

Family Posts Note Informing the World Why Their Dog is on the Roof

It's not every day you see a dog on someone's roof. Well, that is unless you happen to live near this house where the dog climbs up on the roof so often that his owners thought it appropriate to share a note with the neighbors letting everyone know that they are aware that the dog is up there and that it is, in fact, under supervision and safe. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before the note and pictures of the dog ended up on Reddit and now #hucktheroofdog is a bonifide internet celebrity.

That is Not a Happy Cat

So this is what happens when you shave a longhaired cat...with the exception of its face. Reddit user mebeim posted this image without any other context and I can't say that I need any more than that.

The Bow Wow Challenge Dares You to (Pretend to) Live Large

This Monday, rapper and actor Bow Wow tweeted a little humble brag about flying to New York with a picture of a private jet. The problem? He was spotted on a very not private flight by someone who already saw the Tweet and called him out on it -and thus, the #BowWowChallenge was born.

The premise of the challenge is simple -show a life of luxury in the image, then show the reality.

Sure it's petty, but isn't that what Twitter is all about?

Was Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino Actually A Ripoff?

Starbucks' legendary unicorn Frappuchino has already disappeared from stores, but it won't soon disappear from the minds of customers -of from the minds of its board members after the company has been slapped with a lawsuit this week. Brooklyn-based The End cafe filed the suit claiming that Starbucks copied their unicorn latte, which was brought to market over a year before Starbucks' creation.

While the two drinks look pretty similar though, the Brooklyn version was quite a bit healthier than Starbucks' sugary creation, as it is made from ingredients like cold-pressed ginger, lemon juice, dates, cashews, blended with dried maca root, blue-green algae, and vanilla bean. The healthy drink quickly became The End's most popular creation so they filed for a trademark in January, which naturally doesn't bode well for Starbucks.

So will Starbucks' big corporate lawyers beat out the little guy with a trademark? Only time will tell, but the corporation will almost certainly be more careful next time they release an outrageous concoction like this.
