18 Great 90s-Inspired Halloween Costumes for Girls

From Daria to Clueless to Gwen Stefani, this great Buzzfeed article has all kinds of great ideas for girls who grew up in the 90's and those who just happen to love the decade. Two of the costumes are technically from the 80's, but they were both from movies girls of the 90's simply adored (The Labyrinth and Beetlejuice), so they still have their place in this article.

While I was always a huge fan of Hocus Pocus and The Craft as a girl, I think I'd much rather go as Log Lady from Twin Peaks because it's hard to come up with a more eccentricly hilarious 90's Halloween costume.

SpaghettiOs Cupcakes With Velveeta Frosting and Goldfish Cracker Dust

If you read our food posts regularly, you probably know that we simply love snack foods and sweets, so of course we exploded with happiness when we saw Food Beast's newest recipe that combines SpaghettiOs, Velveeta and Goldfish Crackers into an amazing, cheesy and tomato-ey cupcake creation. Hopefully you will dig these sweet, salty savory snacks just as much as we do and maybe we can even have John do a taste test soon.

While these look fantastic, I do think they missed out on one great opportunity by not garnishing these bad boys with a Flamin' Hot Cheeto for a spicy, crunchy kick.

This Guy Saved A Drowning Wallaby

Mick Hussin was on vacation in New South Wales when he saw a baby wallaby being chased by a pack of dogs. The joey ran right into a creek, where it quickly started drowning in the current.

Fortunately, Hussin is a friend to wallabies and he just happened to have learned CPR a few weeks before that. So he jumped into action, pulling the little guy from the water and even giving it CPR by turning his hand into a funnel so he could actually get air into the tiny guy's lungs. After about ten minutes, the wallaby started to move one of its paws and then it spit up the water in its lungs.

Hussin then wrapped the joey in a blanket and brought it to a local wilfelife rescue named WIRES. The group says the critter is recovering well and will be released back into the wild in a week or so.

Big News In Anti-Poaching Efforts

First the bad news. Not only has poaching increased drastically over the last decade, it turns out that much of the money made from poaching is funnelled directly into terrorism.

Now, the upside. That means that becaue the US has declared a war on terror, we have extra incentive to fight poaching as well. In fact, a new bill was recently announced that would put $80 million towards fighting poaching

And that's not the only good news. It turns out that Al Jazeera English has also announced that they are soon going to be airing a new show all about the brave park rangers of Africa who fight poachers every day. This is good not only because it will bring a lot more attention to the war on poaching, but will also hopefully bring in some additional funding to protect elephants and rhinos in these areas. The show is called Wildlife Warzone and you'll have to check your local listings to find out when it's actually on.

If you want to get involved in the anti-poaching effort, you don't have to have a lot of extra money to donate, nor do you have to be willing to fight on the front lines. In fact, you could even make $25,000 and win a free 10-day trip to a South African Wildlife Reserve for helping to fight poaching -that is, if you can design an anti-poaching drone that can help protect endangered rhinos. The prize was announced by Kashmir Robotics, who is hoping to help the white rhinos of South Africa's Kruger National Park.

If you're interested, you'd better get busy because the deadline for entries is December 1. Also, you can't have more than five people on your team and the total cost of the drone can't be higher than $3,000 so the parks can afford to actually buy and use them.

The Avengers As Car Company Logos

As a huge fan of Asian cars, I'd be happy to drive a Hulk. But the Loki would almost certainly be fun to drive, even if it would also be a little hard to control.

This clever eight part series of car company/Avengers mashup posters was designed by South Carolina artist Christian Peterson. You can purchase a copy of the print to decorate your walls at his Etsy shop, though I know most guys would be happy to buy the Black Widow because so many of them would simply love to take Scarlet Johansson on a joyride.

A Leather Dire Wolf Helmet

There's nothing cooler than rushing into battle with you house sigil on your head (as long as it's not in a mocking way like the way they did it at the end of the Red Wedding). If your sigil just happens to be a dire wolf, you'll be hard pressed to find a more impressive helmet than this leather one DeviantArtist Epic Leather was commissioned to create.

True to their name, it's hard to find a leather creation more epic than this. In fact, the mask is not only made with leather, but the teeth are actually real coyote teeth and the helm can be attached to a pelt.

Forget 7 Layer Bean Dip: It's All Greek to Me

7 layer bean dip is great, but it's certainly not the healthiest option and it can get really messy. If you're looking to change up your tailgate with something a little different that's still just as delicious, consider trying this great 7 layer Greek dip by Closet Cooking. This tasty snack features hummus, tatziki, cucumbers, tomato, feta, mint, red onions and kalmata olives. Switch your usual tortilla chips up for some pita chips and you have a tasty Mediteranean treat that's way lower in calories.

Of course, it still isn't going to make your breath smell any better, so you should still bring some mints along.

32 Awesome And Ridiculous Children's Halloween Costumes

Yeah, that's a little Chucky and Bride of Chucky, both of whom are too young to even understand who Chucky is or why dolls might just be utterly terrifying. And they are not the only children in a totally goofy gettup that makes no sense to the kids celebrating Halloween. Buzzfeed has a great gallery with 32 fantastic kid's costumes and while some of them undoubtedly know what they're dressed as (Spider-Man, a granny, the ice cream man, etc), I really hope that those dressed as the girls from The Shining or as Alex from Clockwork Orange have no idea what their parents were going for.

Tommy Is Ready For Halloween

(Video Link)

Tommy, Gracie and Leo are three of the happiest, cutest critters anyone could ever hope to own, which is why we love to get updates on their adventures. In this newest update from the trio, we get to see Tommy the chihuahua celebrating Halloween by doing tricks for treats. Sure, he might not understand that you're supposed to get a treat or do a trick, but at least he understands the basic components of the famous phrase recited by millions of children every October 31 and he has a pretty cute little pumpkin costume to complete the effect.

Great Pics of The Week: Are You Ready for Halloween Time?

Good news, everyone! We're starting a new weekly series featuring all kinds of great pictures that might not warrant a full post on the site but are still worth sharing with you readers. In anticipation of Halloween, this first one will focus solely on fun pictures to get you pumped for our favorite holiday of the year.

Old Man Kit

No one wants to discover they've been in costume all year and just didn't know it. This happened to Redditor LiarInGlass' uncle.

I Wouldn't Want to Play Roller Derby With She-Hulk

As someone who used to play roller derby, I can tell you, those girls are tough. That being said, I don't think all but the best skater could hold their own against Batgirl and even the greatest blocker in the world would fly across the rink with even the tiniest bump by She-Hulk.

Of course, I would pay all kinds of money to see a roller derby match between Marvel and DC heroines -though it is hard to imagine any rink could actually withstand the brutality their match ups would inevitably result in.

These adorable derby dames were created by delightful geek artist Kevin Bolk.

That's How A Food Company Wins The Internet

What happens when someone goes on Twitter to express disappointment over discovering his Velveeta cup came waaaayyyyyy too empty? If that person is Chris Torres, the creator of Nyan Cat, and Velveeta just happens to get wind of the Tweet, then pure magic can happen in the form of cheesy goodness.

That is, they sent him a package to make up for their blunder that included not only five blocks of original Velveeta, but also a one-of-a-kind tee showing a modified Nyan Cat with bread and drippy cheese replacing Nyan's classic Pop Tart and rainbow.

Aside from showing that they have great customer service, Velveeta really impressed everyone simply by showing off their appreciation for great memes and that's what really matters in a processed cheese food company.

Happy 'Tocktober Everyone!

Yes, for most of us, the tenth month of the year is October, but if you live in the furtastically cuddly world of Cute Overload, it's actually Tocktober. To celebrate, the site put up one post of adorable animal buttocks every  hour for the first day of October. Best of all, the posts didn't all just feature one cute animal bottom, but some, like this post had upwards of ten great pictures.

While you should certainly stop by and enjoy all the cute critter booties, I thought it was only suiting to post two of the Tocktober pictures featured from the two animals that came out the highest in our poll of cutest animal butts in the animal kingdom.

Good News Everyone, These Futurama Nails Are Fantastic

I think Hedonism Bot would love these decadent nails, if only because they would prevent the wearer from doing much of anything with her thumbs. These beautiful and clever nails were created by the always brilliant geek nail artist KayleighOC, aka Kayleigh O'Connor, who also created Eye of Sauron nails, Hobbit Hole nails and Scooby Doo nails and more that we have already featured.

25 Funny and Unique TV-Inspired Halloween Costumes

Looking for a little inspiration for your Halloween costume? If you love TV shows, this list by UProxx is a great place to start planning for this year. There are even plenty of great costumes for kiddos and a few puns for fans of terrible wordplay.

For example, this Sean Connery Celebrity Jeopardy costume from that SNL sketch, put together by Redditor r2002, is a hilarious homemade costume that any fan of the show will appreciate.
