Saw this @ eatliver a few days ago, thought it was funny there and its funny here too.
The commenting at eatliver was more forgiving. I don't understand how people can get so bent out of shape over a silly parody. I love neatorama and will always come back even though i do not agree or care for every post. You guys get it right more often than not, in my opinion.

I wonder how much hate mail "the onion" gets?

I am shocked, shocked!
Netorama has out-done itself by presenting clear logic and reasoning.
Please stop this.

The other posters have spelled it out, I'm just posting in support- sharing a parody of the ridiculous 19th century beliefs held by a small fraction of the population is hardly political. If you truly believe that the majority of people in this world would support denying women contraception, then your life has been far to sheltered and you should probably turn off the internet before you accidentally stumble onto 4chan or motherless.

While I agree that this site is probably not the place for overtly political statements, I have a hard time seeing this as such a statement. While it was attached to someone political, I'm fairly certain that the grand majority of people, despite their political beliefs, understand the original statement was ridiculous at best.
While I also didn't particularly enjoy all pregnancy being likened to drowning, you have to keep in mind it's satire - that's the point. If you don't get that, you probably shouldn't read A Modest Proposal.

ah yes, the ol' threat of a boycott. That *really* hurt the Nabisco/Oreo folks now didn't it?
and Bravo to Benjamin Nelson and Jill Harness. Thank you for saving me the keystrokes.

Last I checked, the majority of people do not believe that women can't get pregnant in legitimate rapes.
Regardless of the abortion debate, the majority of people also don't believe that abstinence is the only policy when it comes to sex ed. In fact, the majority of people with brains believe the exact opposite.
Like everyone else said, I don't think anyone will miss you.

Boycotting sounds like an awful lot of work. You could just not visit the site anymore.
My membership fees to this site ($0 paid to date) have entitled me to no input. Some of the content I like, some of it goes the other way. Once the site goes public and buy stock, then I'll make my demands. Just sayin.

Fortunately, ridiculous views are occasionally ridiculed. Unfortunately, poking fun at a guy who believes in the magic power of girl parts to prevent pregnancy in the case of rape, or a set of people who oppose all forms of contraception is considered by some to be a "bold political stance".
