Agreed. The sick child is the bigger issue. Unfortunately, people are so hung up on breasts that they can't see anything else.

Boy, you'd think that she'd get a pass in a Feminist Anthropology class :)

The vodka isn't for fun. Since it's alcohol, the liquid evaporates while cooking. This ensures a crumb or crust that isn't soggy. I use vodka in my pie crusts for that reason. That way, I have a flaky, not wet, crust.

Well, skipping to the next comment certainly avoids confrontation.
In my view, we can't see enough stuff like this, with strong emphasis on the portion relating to legitimate rape. That concept is so vile, so horrid, that it must be shared as much as possible. The mere idea that people think that way shouldn't be covered up and hidden. Ugliness festers in darkness.

Sounds like you don't understand the satire. The "drowning" isn't an abortion. It's the child itself. So, if you go swimming without a floatie and you drown = if you have sex with protection and you get pregnant.
The "life jacket" is the safe, LEGAL abortion. "Other devices" are forms contraception.

Same here. It's funny and brought a little smile to my face.
At times, these issues can get heavy. It's a good thing to bring a little humor to the proceedings.

I can't help but wonder if the people who are saying they wish not to have anything political on this site are only saying that because they disagree with the sentiment.
Anyone here agree with the sentiment, but wish it not to be on the site? Tell the truth.

Clayton - What are the beliefs being ridiculed here that you claim a majority of people agree with?

Uh huh. Sounds like your argument is with the original poster, not me. I'm only making a point about the groups being related. I'm going to withhold comment about any abuse done in the name of religious belief.

I'm not making an argument for or against. Just explaining a fact.
Lutheranism is a sect of Christianity, and Christianity is an off-shoot of Judaism. They are related groups. the FLDS is a fundamentalist off-shoot of the main LDS church. You can try to deny that, but it doesn't make it any less true.
I can only assume that you don't care for the association, because the fringe/off-shoot groups give the main church a bad name. Your feelings aren't important here. These people belong to a religion founded by Joseph Smith. That's a real thing.

Ahh. I see. You're a Mormon. You folks sure are sensitive.
They are fringe groups who happen to believe they're following the true teachings of the church. Now, the main church in SLC may disagree with that, but the Fringe groups are Mormons as well. Excommunicated or not, they're still practicing the faith.
Anywho, in terms of Polygamy in the USA, one has to start with LDS fringe groups, as they're the most active proponents of the idea.

Geoduck referred to fringe LDS groups. Those groups are currently practicing polygamy in the US. I can't think of a group more germane, to be honest.

Of course, one could argue the opposite point. That being that not everyone is a Christian, and shouldn't have to live according to Christian law.
That said, it's perfectly allowable in the bible.
Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite amount of women without any limits to how many he can marry.
Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons...."
Matthew 22:23-32 "23. That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question.
24. "Teacher," they said, "Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him.
25. Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother.
26. The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh.
27. Finally, the woman died.
28. Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?"
Matthew 22:24-28, Jesus did not prohibit at all for the childless widow to marry her husband's brother (even if he were married).
The bible seems to be a bit fuzzy on the subject. I don't think you can say outright that bible forbids it, or god forbids it .. unless you're saying the bible isn't the word of god ...

If nothing else, there's certainly a very large biblical argument for Polygamy.

We live in a country with amazing abundance, where children are lucky enough to have plenty of vegetables to eat. Maybe they need to be grateful and eat their darn food.
I realize I sound cranky. No need to tell me.
