At first I thought that watching someone else play video game is silly. But then, I saw my kids watching their siblings play video games, and deriving joy from the player's accomplishments. The watcher supports the player by giving encouragements. It was actually quite heartwarming. Then one of two things happen: the player said, hey do you want to play? And they switched roles. Or, more often, the watcher asked to play and the player said no, and a fight amongst siblings ensued, broken up by their mom, and the game system impounded for the rest of the day. Ah, good times.
There are two biological sexes (not counting the intersex which can arise from certain medical conditions). "Sex" and "gender" are often used interchangeably in common speech, but not in science, as far as I recall.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but diabetes doesn't mean "not liking sugar" (or not liking sweet things). Diabetes is a disease where blood glucose level is too high because the body doesn't produce enough insulin (the hormone that helps glucose move from the blood into the cells). A lot of diabetics, like regular people, like the taste of sweet things. They just can't have (too much) sugar as it exacerbates their disease.
Oh, the ozone hole is still there, but it is recovering after ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons were reduced. Without that concerted global effort to reduce CFCs, the ozone hole problem would've been bigger (and it wouldn't be able to repair itself). You're right that a lot of today's problems are sensationalized - but it doesn't mean that the problems don't exist.

I'm not sure the connection between diabetics and diet coke though.
