We used metric in the Army. Still, when calling in mortar fire or whatever I'd think in terms of yards and then adjust a little to meters. Metric is best in science labs, but not so handy for things like cooking.

Funny. When I was working as a surveyor for the USFS in the cascades of NW Washington, a co-worker and I would always yell out for Sasquatch to come and see us.

Interesting. I met Mrs. O in April of 1963 and we were married at the end of August that year. I got lucky to find such a great lady and she said yes.

Yes it was quite an operation. He had regular customers. It all began with an article in Sports Illustrated about a guy who built a big worm business. My son would go out nights with a headband lamp, plastic "buckets" on his belt and picking up night crawlers. When we had a dry spell he would put electric current to work to get the worms to crawl up. He only did it for one summer when his attention turned to becoming a ham radio operator.
