ted, the reason PETA gets under my skin is because they make people who do work with and for the benefit of animals on a daily basis look bad. When I was in the veterinary field, it was automatically assumed that I supported these clowns. The more I read into what they do and what they believe, the more disgusted I became. I am not an activist by any means, but I do like to get the message about their hypocrisy and aggressive philosophy out to people.A lot of people see them as being very benign, and they are anything but.

I have to agree with violet in saying that it is a rather creative solution for those in need of the help. Say what you will about Japanese society being male dominated or whatever, but at least this is a society that recognizes these needs and attempts to fill that void, whether it be for an alpha male or a loving pet. After all, some male dominated societies discard women outright.

I think it's very sad that there is a demand for a business like this, and in the States or here in the UK, it would be ridiculed and people would be too ashamed to use it. However, I bet a lot of people in the US and UK would benefit from it.

This is really pathetic, but my dogs are on Dogster. In my defence, I have logged on there once in the past 11 months or so, because I was really bored when I set up their accounts after a friend badgered me to join. But my point... yeah, putting them on another animal networking site would certainly be in the realm of "crazy animal lady" and I might as well start dressing the dogs and throwing them birthday parties if I step over that line.

I know what you mean about Texas, Nathan. Usually, it's stuff you that in other states, would be sold to tourists only.

I'll stick to regular caviar, thank you. I'm sure this is all very tasty, but in the end, I hate snails. They skeeve me out and I spend most of my summer killing them in my garden. The less I have to do with them the better.

The "e" in PETA is supposed to stand for ethical, which is the biggest joke of all given their tactics and all the puppies they kill.
