No need to panic, people. All they have to do is make progress. Nobody's expecting them to become size zero supermodels. Even with underlying conditions like hypothyroidism or diabetes, positive changes in diet and/or lifestyle should make some sort of difference.

It baffles me that people wouldn't want to be take advantage of something like this and improve their health. Sure, you have a right to destroy your body... but if you're going to do so, you shouldn't expect other people to foot the bill. If you want to remain big and "beautiful", don't expect your employer or other taxpayers to pay for it. It comes down to personal responsibility, and that's something that a lot of people still don't want to accept.

LOL... eggs without ovaries. Nice trick if you can do it.

In any case, this is a great example of someone not taking the hint. If you're born without ovaries, maybe (just maybe) you're not supposed to have any children!

Sounds sensible to me, especially since they're given the opportunity and the means to get healthier. If they don't want to do that, then of course they should start paying for the inevitable costs of their bad lifestyle.

EVERY library should offer this woman a library card. She'll keep them rolling in dough.

She essentially paid $170 for the two books (if she is, indeed, allowed to keep them). But if she'd gone to Amazon.com, she could have gotten them for $21.18 (in paperback).

Wow... It's amazing how all the skeptics come out of the woodwork just to harp on one fraction of this article. Mouthing off and acting like complete know-it-alls... when I'm sure most of them have never conducted their own homeopathy experiment or indeed ever taken a homeopathic remedy.

I don't know HOW homeopathics work, whether it's actual memory at some level we can't see (and if it's that sensitive, wouldn't it be prudent to question whether our expectations are having some sort of quantum effect on the outcome?), or if it's just the placebo effect. Even if it's just the placebo effect, does it matter? As long as you're not putting all your eggs in one basket and putting your life in danger, I don't see the harm in trying a safe, relatively inexpensive alternative.

Why do some people think that library books are their own property, to do with as they wish?

Now, if they're going to arrest people, they need to arrest the vandals that make notes all over brand new books and tear instruction pages out of magazines and how-to books.

I interpreted "Asian woman" as "a woman who lives in Asia"... and I got it right. For that question, I was thinking of Okinawans...

And I'm not American, and I still got 100%. While the quiz was somewhat biased towards Americans, it doesn't mean the rest of us can't know some trivia.
