You have to click "Simulations" then "Alter Ego".

I was surprised that some of the avatars were close to the actual people. But which came first? Did they design their avatars to look like themselves, or have they changed themselves to look like their avatars?

@Jim - Great ideas. I had a teacher that issued tests on colored paper. The questions on each test were the same, just in a different order. Years later, I learned the tests were all the same. He just used the colors to discourage cheating.

I went to college in the early 80's, when engineering degrees were at their highest. The first day of classes, I was in a giant lecture hall. The professor said "Look at the person to the left of you, to the right, the one in front and the one in back. Only one of you will graduate." That was pretty strong stuff for a freshman to hear. And it was to a certain extent self-fulfilling. Tell people they're going to fail, and they will.

I notice those who have a problem with the question have not offered an alternative (other than "Where do you go to church" and whoo-boy is that a huge can of worms).

I'm all for stopping the switch, but keep it on daylight savings time. Who needs the sun to come up at 5:30 in the morning? I'd much rather drive home from work before it gets dark.

No tech at school is one thing, but no tech at all seems strange. If you think of tech as a foreign language, the perfect time to pick it up is when they're young. I know whenever I run into a problem, I just hand my phone, ipod, etc to my niece and it's quickly handled.

I'd suggest he go as a wizard. That way, he can wear a long robe decorated with brightly colored stars and lightning bolts. He can carry a wand and have a cool hat, too.

I fall into the two horizontal pieces of (leavened) bread camp. I suppose a hot dog could qualify, if you ate it sideways. The only exception to the rule is a double-double protein style.

NPR interviewed someone who has tried it. He had several complaints. The major one was that it uses a pressure sensitive screen instead of a touchscreen. One must press very hard to click on something, and typing is nearly impossible. Another big concern is power. The $100 laptop that was issued a few years ago can be manually recharged. This new device needs access to electricity.

@randi - Yeah. Several years ago, my boss was involved in a terrible accident that he walked away from. His complaint - the airbag sprained his thumb.
