Not the 'first' as scratching is indeed music. Looks like a bias against the art by the poster of this blog entry. I've heard it before. Music is humans making sounds with their voice or via an instrument. That instrument could be a piano, saxophone, turntable & LP or a leaf blower... it really does not matter. If the artist's intent if to create music then that is what it is.

Oh, they teach scratching at Berklee College of MUSIC don't ya know.

This is from the film The Way Things Go. Saw it at a museum years ago and had to own it on DVD. Great stuff.

There's a group local to me that is very similar... they've toured the world and been the subject of a BBC channel 4 documentary. The Young @ Heart Chorus. They do covers of pop tunes. Hearing them do "I Still Haven't Found What I am Looking For" or "I Wanna Be Sedated" gives new meaning to the songs. Check 'em out on Youtube.

Something wonderful will happen, and this is the best way. everyone will wake up to a joyous understanding of what is important for all life forms, not just for cats. The awakening is gentle and people need to pay attention. If i came back as a person, many people would just start yakking at each other about who believed what and who was closer to right and who wasn't and on and on. Instead, none of that will need to be said. Instead of yakking at each other they will pay attention to the world and the needs of all the life forms.
