I went to France and I found the French to be very pleasant people. The Parisians were in a hurry and a little pushy, but no more so than in any other city I've been in. And most people were very tolerant of my pidgen French. The Eiffel Tower seems kind of small and sedate by today's standards (compared to the CN Tower, for example) but it's still a great piece of engineering and a lot of fun to go up.
Mike Rowe also used to be the "How to use your PrimeStar Satellite Receiver" guy on channel 999. That was before PrimeStar got swallered up by DirecTV, of course.
Yeah, the Dalek that you're familiar with is actually the mobile battlesuit. The actual Dalek rides around inside. Don't get cocky, though - Daleks are very deadly even without their armor as several members of UNIT have found out.
"The Rape of Nanking" by Iris Chang is a good book, if anyone's interested. "The Good Man of Nanking: The Diaries of John Rabe" is another one. John Rabe was a man (a Nazi, specifically) who put himself at great personal risk to get Chinese citizens to designated safe zones.

I suppose they had to sacrifice some efficiency and ease-of-use for durability cheapness. I hate having to do that, but sometimes it's gotta be done. Still, it's better than hauling buckets of water. Most of the farm that I live on doesn't have running water and having to haul four five-gallon buckets of water out to the pigs every day really sucks. Hey, maybe I should get one of these things!
