My old NES game Base Wars had this same concept. I loved robot baseball. Of the reality is it's as useless a the volleyball robot. There is no replacing humans for true gaming experience.

Back in '95 when I bought my first computer I was smoking fair amount, so about five years later I was scanning a picture and noticed it was darker than I expected. After a few adjustments I finally touched the screen. It was covered in a thin layer of tar. After a liberal wiping with Windex, I understood what the doctors had been telling about cigarettes. Maybe one day I'll quit altogether. At least I don't smoke at my desk anymore.
