Just a lucky (not for the dolphin) hit by the polar bear. They target seals using this method and have always done so. Grey object pops up through the hole, polar bear grabs it. Dolphins or seals it's all the same to a polar bear. Dolphins get lost, trapped, beached, disoriented and die regularly. They usually travel in groups and if they got trapped by the ice there's little option but to come to the only opening in the ice they can get to. The bear just waits.
I don't really want to (over)analyse the rationale for Calvin and Hobbes thanks. I only need to know that it was the best strip cartoon ever, and remains so 'til this day.
If you want sheer scale Bacelona's La Boqueria Food Market has Valencia's Mecado Central licked! 13,600 square metres for Barcelona, 8,100 for Valencia. There are almost twice as many fish stalls and butchers at Barcelona. The outer edge of la Boqueria has many, many bars, cafes etc. where you can rest and get a drink and a bite to eat. The place is so busy that tourist groups of 15 or more are banned so that the locals can get around quickly! I have visited both several times and will concede that Valencia is far more attractive. They also have many bars so you won't go thirsty! And if you can't find it in Valencia market, you probably won't find it in Barcelona either. On balance I prefer Valencia but the size of Bacelona's La Boqueria has to be seen to be believed.
Wonderful for the ducks. This Canal & River Trust "charity" might do better to consider the hundreds of canal dwellers they have evicted and are still trying to evict from their long held moorings just to make way for paying day boaters. Or hounding out canal-side cafés on spurious charges of breaches of the Canal & River Trust "charity" rules and then giving the sites to Starbucks who ride roughshod over these rules without a problem because they pay far more for the sites than the previous owners on long term contracts. I could go on - how long have you got? They are a business designed to make money, nothing more.
On the subject of driverless cars. When an accident is imminent and the choice for the car's brain is to swerve into the queue of children waiting to cross the road or to let you get wiped out by the huge truck that just barrelled through the intersection straight at you, what's it going to do? Don't say it can't happen - it will.
