Reading about this character on Wikipedia was enough to give me nightmares. Ironically, this vile lunatic managed to die a relatively clean death in battle.
Bloody ludicrous. Here in Australia, every house after WW2 had a Hills Hoist, to the point where they became a part of the culture. They may have fallen out of fashion a bit, but clothes dryers are still mostly reserved for rainy doors, with outdoors drying being the norm.
Most of these covers feature illustrations of the Martian fighting machines. What a strange assortment of designs, many of them quite bizarre. Only 3 or 4 closely resemble Well's description, suggesting professional illustrators often don't read books whose covers they are drawing.
Cute, but very strange. I can't speak Japanese, but I'm guessing this is the story: Yukipon's owner gets drunk and, after accusing him of being a freeloader, refuses to feed him. Our plucky feline gets a job in a warehouse so he can afford his own catfood. Despite lacking fully opposable thumbs he tries his best, but is fired after accidently locking himself in an industrial freezer. His owner has sobered up by now, and the two are once again the best of friends.
I saw this on a list of "world's worst tattoos" - and with good reason. If I was in a restaurant and got a piece of pizza that looked like that, I'd send it back to the chef.
Wow! A fantastic piece of art and a great conversation piece. But perhaps not so practical, as it is so heavy and as the tools are packed very tightly together.
What a clever cat! My cat's only talents are mooching food off the neighbours and sleeping 20 hours a day. Some of the pieces Nora played sounded almost exactly like free-form jazz music.
The upper human horn or lower human horn?
If you provided my friends and relatives with an open bar I guarantee it would wind up costing far more than $30k...
