That is why I like the game "Spore". You can play the entire game without killing anything, or you can choose to kill everything you meet. You can choose to help other creatures, or become isolationist and only help yourself.

As a biologist that has studied the genus Agriope, I am fairly confident that the reason there is a "definite correlation between the presence of a stabilimentum and the presence of a male" is because the male builds it. In my experience, females kept to themselves do not build these, and males kept to themselves built a small web that resembles a stabilimentum. Only when they are kept together do they produce a web with a stabilimentum. I have seen males weave these, but never seen females do it.

I disagree with this theory. These scientists need to look at the cultural factors. Many Jewish parents, like Japanese and Chinese parents, put huge pressure on their kids to perform academically and succeed in intellectual pursuits. Being smart and successful is generally more valued than other things by Jewish parents. In Latino culture, family is generally more important than academics, so kids are encouraged to get good jobs and support their families. Neither way is better, nor do I think either is genetically motivated.

One possible reason for the prevalence of genetic disorders in Jewish people could also be cultural. People generally want to marry into their own racial/religious group, but since the Jewish gene pool is much smaller than it used to be, a bunch of bad recessive genes have cropped up.

I'm guessing that the ice cream was sugar free, since most sugar free products use sugar alcohol instead of sugar. By the same logic, it is possible to get a false positive by chewing sugar free gum.

I'm not trying to start trouble, so don't be mad with me, but this is pretty funny.

"See, this is one of many reasons we need to require licenses to procreate. "

"It’s parents like these that, frankly, should NOT be parents at all…"

"I might just euthanize the parents."

"Boy. They should both be sterilized."

"Seriously, such people should be banned from having kids. "

"I agree with those who have said that these idiots should have never been allowed to procreate. "

"Mentally retarded people shouldn’t be able to have kids…..
There are just some people out there that do not deserve to have children and it sickens me knowing that good decent people can’t while the crap of this world can."

"Rhea, I say all people need to do a course and get a licence to raise children, and should have needed to for a very long time."

eu?gen?ics [yoo-jen-iks] –noun (used with a singular verb) the study of or belief in the possibility of improving the qualities of the human species or a human population, esp. by such means as discouraging reproduction by persons having genetic defects or presumed to have inheritable undesirable traits (negative eugenics) or encouraging reproduction by persons presumed to have inheritable desirable traits (positive eugenics).

If you think this is funny, check out "Kitae Butt" profile on facebook. He is a cat, but also a pretentious artist. His "sculpures" are actually dead animals. Warning: dead animal photos.

I have one of these fish. The actual name is Senegal Bichir. They are really cool. They have ganoid scales, which are similar to snake scales and they can breathe air! Google or Wiki "Polypterus senegalus" (their scientific name) for more info.

The website you got that from seems a bit pseudo-sciency. I'm not saying the article is not true, only to take articles from that site with a grain of salt.

If you want to learn more, "Dr Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation" by Olivia Judson http://www.drtatiana.com/ is a great read.

One thing about the article, it said "Like all sea slugs, flatworms are hermaphrodites." Flatworms are not sea slugs, though the two are often confused. Sea slugs are actually molluscs.
