I've had a few "professional" (read: cheap) haircuts where my hair came out looking like the hairdresser was wearing a blindfold.
This is why I ended up with a style that allows me to do it myself most of the time.

While I understand the idea, and this could be possible if one were to use a highlighting cap, it's a little difficult if you're doing your whole head of hair.

It was, not sure if it still is, common for older kids around my area to de-tassel corn in the summer months. That would certainly teach him.

If he didn't even try to mow lawns, shovel snow, or do odd jobs for the neighbors then that's as much his parents'/guardians fault as it is his. I can understand if he flat out refused to the point of force, but then the responsible adult parties should have spoken with the judge after the first month of his refusals. Obviously, the kid has issues and doesn't realize that being ordered to do something as simple as mow a lawn for cash to pay someone back is getting a break compared to the alternative of going to juvenile detention.

Unless there were a history of problems or some other ongoing issue, I feel bad for the guy who had the neighbor call the police for simply sitting on his front steps drinking a beer. What's wrong with a guy drinking a beer and chillin' while watching the world go by?

I have two boys. They're my second pair of piggies. These guys are rescues that were born from a female who was found abandoned, pregnant, and outside during a heat wave. I adopted them from a local guinea pig rescue agency. My first pair weren't rescues but still "second hand." I adopted them came from a couple who had to reluctantly downsize their pet expenses. Guinea pigs are awesome pets but require a lot more room and care than most people think. The only real annoyance is that their hay gets everywhere in the house. However, just like any other pet it's all worth it to cuddle and the noises they make when they know their getting their morning veggies (or any other time the fridge opens and the sink runs) don't hurt their image either.

Yes, it is/was/continues to be really friggin cold here! It was around -2F (-18C) on Tuesday.

According to the radio news this morning that building is on fire again because of it rekindling itself. The cold and ice forming is obviously not helping them.

She's fairly well known in the crazy cavy owner community, of which I can claim membership. (Though, whether it's the pigs who are crazy, or the owners, no one is quite sure!) It's difficult to capture their little faces properly and she does an amazing job. : D

I think putting the plans to your "impenetrable fortress" on the Internet is probably a big security risk.

I was quite surprised to learn during my vacation in Japan that flip phones are the norm. Of course, the phones there do things US phones are still struggling in infancy phases to even pilot on a small scale. ::sigh:: Seriously though, when is tap to pay with my phone going to get here already?
