This is why I don't bother to watch the Olympics anymore. It long ago stopped being about athletic competition and now is all about who has the weepiest story. It really started going down that road when NBC got the broadcast rights in the US and other countries have started to follow with their own version of the Waterworks Games. Wish they'd award broadcast rights to multiple companies so we could choose the type of coverage we want to watch. I'd love to have a straight up sports broadcast of the games.
Ron Swanson? Really? The guy whines like a two year old. He's a man made by Hardees commercials. He's what posers trying to look like alpha males do because guys like Don Draper told him what they should do. He's a funny character and I get a lot of laughs out of watching him but alpha he is not.
It was also obvious at one time that the best way to deal with someone suffering from a mental disorder was bloodletting. Anyone with functional eyes could see that the person who was running around wildly calmed down and acted relaxed after bloodletting. Some even took a nap.
For the past four or five decades we've had an obession with the potential to be the victim of crime. Politicans have exploited this to get elected while we've grown to have an expensive prison system that is by far the largest in the world. Now that we can't afford to throw more people in prison for long terms each time election season rolls around, we get these registries instead. It's another form of "tough on crime" that doesn't have to actually evaluated for effectiveness. And those who pass the laws don't have to deal with the financial consequences like they do when required for find more money to build and operate another prison.
It's true that we don't have registries for most crimes but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen. The sex offender registery has seen only limited opposition which is very attractive to those who want to get reelected. Sadly once the trend starts really rolling, you'll find politicans trying hard to out do each other. "My opponent only created two criminal registries while I created over a dozen. How can we trust to families will be safe in the world with so few registries?"
The first Easter when our family switched over from solid to hollow bunnies was a sad one. It never even occurred to my mom that such a thing as a hollow bunny could exist. I think she was more upset about it than us kids. Solid bunnies became very difficult to find over the years and I think now they're solid at a premium over the cost of extra chocolate required to make them just because the volume is so low.
I wouldn't risk it but considering that bacon flavored mayo is vegetarian, this might be some sort of chemical flavoring rather than actual nut extract.
