These are from discontinued events in the Scottish Highland Games. The first one is from the wife tossing event, in which male competitors race while carrying their wives through a special obstacle track in the fastest time. The first competitor to toss his wife into the crib is the winner. The second is from the hybrid caber toss/hoop rolling event. Competitors toss the caber (long pine pole or log) end over end, then race to retrieve it. Then they use the cabers to roll the industrial size iron hoops to the finish line. This event was discontinued after competitors kept clothes-lining each other with the cabers and running over competitors and spectators with the hoops. Or they would get the caber stuck in the rungs of the wheel, causing them to trip and get run over. Only those who had up to date tetanus shots could compete in these events.

Well, it's definately not a foot bath according to the sign on the base. Rather, it's the trophy from the final Copper Bowl played in 1996 at Tuscon, AZ. Now that bowl game is known as the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in which to the winner receives the copper tub full of buffalo wings and a side of ranch dipping sauce.
