I remember watching Death Race 2000 at the drive-in with my parents in the mid seventies.

I had a bat in my bedroom a few years back. I was watching Batman Begins in my bedroom. You know the scene where young Bruce Wayne falls into the bat cave and all the bats coming flying at him? As that scene came onscreen, I heard a fluttering and then noticed something flying in my bedroom. Needless to say, I screamed. Then I got out of bed, put a hat on, grabbed a broom and eventually shooed it out the front door. It took a few minutes as it kept circling around from kitchen, to living room, to dining room. What are the odds of that happening while watching that movie?

In my town, there is a restaurant called the Oak Tree. And there is an oak tree at the outer edge of the parking lot. I think the tree was there before the restaurant.

Dr. Coxon calls forgetting the word for something a brain freeze. Miss C. calls is it a brain cramp. Around here we call it a brain fart. ;^}

One of my friends posted a pic last week of sunny, 50 weather in Sitka, Alaska. Said he was having to be careful about getting sunburnt. And giving those dealing with freezing temps and snow in the Pacific Northwest a bad time. :^}

I can't recall hearing floating logs down the river referred to as log drives, I think it was just referred to as floating logs. Both my father and grandfather worked on what I remember being called the boom or log boom into the 1970's. I'll have to ask my dad if the term log drives was used in our area of the Pacific Northwest.

The lack of clearing/road salt equipment certainly adds to it. I have enough dings and cracks on the windshield of the current and previous vehicles because of the times they put down "sand" in years past on I-5 when it's icy. I'm happy with our mild winter so far.

Here in the PNW it doesn't take much for school to be cancelled. Our snowfalls tend to be wet snow which then makes roads icy.
