I'm not all that suprised given the current Con/Lib alliance's war on benefits. They probably saw he was young and just rejected it straight away. Calculated evil isnt a patch on simple beaurocracy.

IMO the Death Star explosion reflected the "pin to pin" construction of the central power core which caused the initial explosion - it could channel its explosion laterally outward in a ring.
That cat clearly worked out how to get the thing going. Also, why is it "the stupidest video ever"? Its interesting to watch an animal figure stuff out. Plus its cute!
I think the story here is not why it was built but why in hell in cost £190,000 to build it. Thats the scandal of it. Someone got very rich out of the council's gullibility.
