Family checks registry and knows not to send their cat home with sadistic animal torturer. I'd like to ask the people who had to experience the horror of finding out their cats were tortured to death how they would feel about a registry of animal abusers.
I can watch movies on my Android tablet but I don't stare at the thing when I'm walking around outside. There's just too much worth seeing around me. Watching movies is more satisfying at home with the cat on my lap and a nice Manhattan at my side.
I can understand texting and driving. Driving is boring and most trips feel like they take more time than they should. But why would someone walking and able to enjoy the 3-dimensional world choose instead to stare at the 3 inch screen of their internet crack phone? I've seen people walking their dogs staring at the damned things not even glancing at their dogs and people pushing strollers completely ignoring the child.
I recall people having satisfying social lives and productive work lives back when we had phones that plugged into the wall and wrote letters on paper with pens.
The most fair way would be to simply accept that there are different sized people and hope the weight averages out. People who are overweight are ridiculed and humiliated enough. We don't need to add to that by making them pay more for transportation. If one or more very heavy people get in my cab I don't charge extra even though it increases my fuel costs. I'm tactful and fair about it. Everyone gets charged the same and gets the same quality of service from me no matter how their body is shaped.
Some non-alcoholic beers are good. The alcohol burn is a big part of the whiskey taste but that's no all there is too it. It has caramel, vanilla, wood, and char flavors. You could hypothetically evaporate the alcohol off and still end up with something good tasting. This stuff is apparently synthetic with no distilled mash involved, though.
It's no a stupid idea than bacon-like food made from tempeh, soy milk, and non-meat gelatin. All these things are popular and good tasting.
It would be nice to have a shot of whiskey in my coffee right now and still be able to drive.
