Black Swan Director Makes Disturbing Anti-Meth Ads

(YouTube Link)

Anti-drug PSA's just got a whole lot scarier, thanks to this slick new campaign that warns against using Meth.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, of Black Swan and Requiem For A Dream fame, they all start out with a seemingly benign shot of the user. Then the camera pulls out to reveal a scene of horror meant to illustrate what you're getting yourself into if you decide to try Meth, and it ain't pretty.

So, instead of just saying "Don't Do Meth", these scary ads show you why you shouldn't mess around. No argument here! You can see them all at the DesignTAXI link below.

Several years ago, Thomas Siebel of Siebel Systems sold the company and moved to Montana. The growing meth problem shocked him, and he started the Montana Meth Project. It's the original of this. I remember watching the ads online and was shocked, but I also thought that they might shock someone enough to make them think twice. The one I remember was a girl in the shower clawing at her skin until she bled.

Awesome. It's about time anti-drug campaigns got real. They should do one where a mother invites a stranger in to pay for her drugs with sex, and there's a kid crying in another room, because they are too loud and it gets violent.

I hope young teens see these and it scares the hell out of them.
