I totally agree with Vonskippy. I remember "mountainbiking" long before anyone ever heard the term. We would find bikes on the garbage, fix them and put tires with good tread on them, then ride em through the woods. Many of these were old ten speeds. I couldn't believe the price when I first went to buy a mountainbike!
Ten years ago, Blockbuster decided to move to my town. We already had a great mom and pop video rental store, and they wanted them to buy into the franchise. At first they refused, but Blockbuster threatened to move in next door to them, claiming they would run our store under. They gave in. Goodbye to a great selection of action, obscure comedy, and one of the best horror movie selections I've ever seen anywhere(and porn, can't forget the porn). Suddenly we had a choice of what I consider to be the top 40 pic of movies. New releases, not good ones, safe, mediocre ones. Lame horror, cheesy comedies. And no porn. Totally ripped off our town. Good riddence.
It irks me to no end that there are 12 inches in a foot, 16 ounces in a pound, 5,280 feet in a mile, etc.I also work with tools, and prefer metric. It makes working quicker. And these days many things have BOTH metric and standard nuts and bolts. Totally frustrating.why use both? It's stupid.Also, when you eye up a bolt, figure it is about 14mm, and it turns out to be bigger, you can pretty much tell if you need a 15mm or 16mm wrench. With standard wrenches, it could be 7/16", 9/16", 1/2",etc. Annoying, to say the least.
Not a fan, but it doesn't bother me that it will be back on. I do think it will not be the same, and probably for the worse. I'm a big fan of Futurama, and I don't feel the new episodes live up to the old ones. When something is good and going strong, then ends, it will not be as good if you try to repeat it.
You might actually get less injuries in a bare knuckle fight. You aren't going to punch as hard as you would if you had gloves on. You will tend to use more strategy than brute force.
Germany can pull it off, even with higher costs, because there is a smaller gap between the highest paid employee and the lowest. Americas companies have decided that maximum profit for CEO's and shareholders trumps a living wage for lower workers. It is disgusting. How much money do you really need?
Why is every disgusting and/or endangered creature purported to be an aphrodisiac? And it's usually in Asia or a third world country, so even if I believed in aphrodisiacs I would still be wary of them.
The fake Blair Witch documentary was WAY better then the actual movie. I knew it wasn't real, but it was still very well executed. Made the movie seem like a piece of crap, like Star Wars.
I work at a pet supply store(I'm here right now!) and You can't believe how people treat their pets!! These things live better than I do!(Probably because I work at a pet food store) They buy stupid outfits! Boots! They eat organic, "holistic", very expensive foods! They will buy these foods, natural treats, then say to their kids "Whose ready to go to McDonalds!!". It's ridiculous, but hey, they keep Me in a job!
I'm not a gamer, and I do tend to trivialize or make fun of die hard gamers, (or fanboys of any stripe) but I would definitly consider video games to be an artform. A book that is poorly written or just lowbrow fun is still art, so even games that are not complicated or visually elaborate still have to be concieved, perfected, and executed properly. Not just any shmo can create a game, even a cheap one.
