ted- My dad used to get our cats declawed when I was younger and they were all perfectly healthy and happy cats.

I think it's cruel now and would never get it done to my own. Our cat used to tear up our furniture until we finally found smething he would use instead. Lured him with catnip to a scratching mat and he's been using it ever since.

So.... I really hope the car in front and behind him left enough space in front or behind so they could leave if they wanted.
