I think the woman they first showed was a hoarder. Just b/c someone takes good care of them doesn't make them any less of a hoarder. It's just that those are the kinds you usually see on the news.
I consider someone a hoarder when they just can't stop themselves from getting more.
Your friend w/ the 12 cats, if she has plans to get even more, then yes, I would consider her to have a hoarder mentality as well.

Nothing wrong with having a lot of pets, but when you just can't stop getting them, no matter how well you take care of them... it is hoarding. Just my opinion.

That's actually pretty sad to watch. I think the woman saying she's lonely kinda hit the nail on the head there. Same for the woman who just wants to take care of someone/thing.

I can't imagine hoarding cats though. I hate cleaning up ONE litter box.. and that's w/ a cat that thankfully has never peed or pooped on/in anything other than the litter box. I can't imagine the smell in those homes is very pleasant.

Wes... ya know, that is a very good question. I do it myself sometimes, but thinking back I have absolutely no idea why. It's just one of those things.

Yes screaming kids in stores is annoying, but it's never crossed my mind to slap THE CHILD. Now, it has crossed my mind to smack the crap out of the parents who ignore it though. But that's just a fleeting reaction to the annoyance.
If that guy had said that crap to me, they would've had to have called an ambulance for him b/c his balls would have been shoved down his throat.
