-The powers-that-be tried and failed with the Wonder Woman reboot, starring Adrianne Palicki. -They looked into prequel for CW called Amazon but it could never even get far out of the idea stage. -They had the ultimate screenwriter in strong-heroine action heroes, Joss Whedon, write a movie script and still passed.
Strangely missing in the article is that Stalag 17 (1953) was the inspiration of Hogan's Heroes; or so maintained my father (who got smarter as I got older). The Innernets tell me S-17 creators Donald Bevan and Edmund Trzinski thought so too, and successfully won a plagiarism lawsuit.
Where did I write anything about indiscriminate use? I'm not a "place all your thin-shelled eggs in one basket" kinda guy. Check out this Washington Post piece that says 100,000 people diedin two countries in 1986-88 when DDT use was stopped. That's a lot of souls in a short time. Oopsie.
And I have no idea what John S. is writing, since he seems to be against DDT in one post and for DDT in response to yours. Must be your star powah. ;-)
Man, a lot of people died because of environmentalist ideology (one which I'm happy is slowly reversing). But yet, please continue to make 'digs'. It strengthens your position.
Facts are also easily ignored. Countries have banned DDT completely. The USA did so. South Africa did so, until they saw a sixfold rise in Malaria cases and went back to DDT. "In 2006, after some 50 million preventable deaths, the UN’s World Health Organization reversed course and endorsed the use of DDT to kill and repel malaria-causing mosquitoes." You're right: Facts are fun and important!
Of course, there was also a Bush assassination fantasy movie which I imagine some found ruttin' hi-larious.

You might be onto something.

But she must have lived to the ripe ol' age of at least 112 if she died in 2011!
Phase 2: ?????
Phase 3: Profit!
