This was awesome. Very moving. And could never, ever be done on America's Got Talent—our three judges, unable to recognize originality and brilliance when they see it, would give her the X too soon for her art to even start telling a story.

(…And when I say that Filipinos are generally better at seeing the good in people, I say that as a non-Filipino, with the understanding that all people are different. But on average, I stand by my statement that Filipinos are far above average at their ability to see through to the good in people.)

This is a definite generalization, but I work in the Philippines, and it seems like Filipinos generally are better at looking past the bad in people and celebrating the good in them. Michael Jackson was very screwed up as an adult. But at one time, he was an innocent young child with an amazing voice and innovative ideas about dance. He was a brilliant young man. To say it's a shame that his life turned out the way it did is an understatement. I don't think I can think of any life that spun out of control so very tragically.

I was never a fan of Michael, but man, watching these inmates dance to some of his songs from when he was a kid still got me awfully emotional. It makes a person wish they could roll back time and raise him right, with love and understanding. I think that's all he ever wanted in his life.

Okay, it just started playing a new audio ad. "What is Cobra, and how does it work?" an ad for health insurance. The iframe displays this web page:

http://eas.apm.emediate.eu/eas?camp=30813;cu=9545;cre=mu;target=_blank;ord=1243419788;EASClick=

This is a different audio ad than the one I heard earlier, which was a conversation with Steve Carell.

The problem is that, for some reason, one of the ads in the iframe autoforwarded itself to a web site (still in the iframe, unclicked) that plays a video. I saw it earlier today and it drove me nuts as I searched through all thirty-something browser tabs open on my machine to find where the sound was coming from, but I eventually isolated it to that iframe. Wish I could remember what

I agree 100%. People anywhere, when given the opportunity to have a free 32k, would be mightily tempted, and returning it was certainly a noble deed, but please don't condemn an entire society as 'corrupt.'

This made me happier than a bird with a french fry. Thanks for that. One of my fondest memories is singing Hey Jude karaoke at a mall in the Philippines, and the karaoke dj deciding to put it on the loudspeakers, and everyone joining in with me once the "na na na na-na-na-na" part came in.

First, some things should be considered before we go apeshit (no pun intended) on the owner. Look at how little money the owner was making. He was living in extreme poverty, the likes of which nobody who's lucky enough to be visiting this site have probably ever known firsthand. Yeah, he was abusing a monkey. He was also trying to survive. Doesn't make it right, but it's not a black and white issue, and this is definitely very grey.

Sad that the monkey was overworked. Also, sad that the man was killed.

If you were this boy's son, esu, this boy would be a slut.

I think it's great to see that he helped his friend. I wish there were more stories like this and less stories like that dude in texas who killed the kid who stole twinkies out of his trailer.
