Ted's Comments
surferdude69: that's basically what I was getting at. The picture is done so poorly, it really gives the impression of cruelty that may not be the case.

Sorin.
You obviously read my comment incorrectly. I didn't object to the experimentation itself, just the 1950's style vivisectionist feel they give it. I think they could have marketed it better. I thought my phrase horrifying banal nailed the impression on the head.
As for my comment to vet, you really read it wrong.
I took execption to the comment he made about raising his kids in a wheelchair. I had a relative who spent the last 20 years of his life in a wheelchair, and I felt his comment was insensitive. I think it's great that he's able to use prosthetics, but not everybody is.
Next time, read the comments more closely before you label people.

Also, it's the same community where two weeks ago, a 38-yr-old mom killed herself and her 7-yr-old child. Cops might be taking things a little more seriously a the moment.

I think there's a little more to the story than is being reported.
Maybe though, it has something to do with the 2nd or 3rd grade boy that accidentally shot a girl in Washington state last week when he brought a loaded gun to school.

3:10, but it hurt.
I didn't get to meet the promised wacky bunch of propellorheads.

I don't think kittens would make good "fossil fuels" for at least a few million years.
Lots of hatred in these comments. We all have an impact on the environment to some extent, just by our own existence.
Unless you live in the wild and eat your own poop, I'm pretty sure you have some impact on the environment.

No experience with cats? I've been getting reluctant cats into carriers for years. My vet showed me the best way to do it.
It's not like these are feral cats this woman is rounding up outside.
The article does say the old and visually impaired are her primary clients, which kinda makes her steep prices even more outrageous. It just made her out to be some sort of cat-carrier guru, which is a lot of hype. For that money, she could at least give a psychic reading.

Not torture, just gross.

Incredibly disturbing image not alleviated by the impression that the monkey can "shake hands" with you. The result is horrifyingly banal.
Not against improving life by science, but somebody needs to work on their marketing skills.
@vet: You do know it is possible for people in wheelchairs to live productive lives?

How can you tell anything about the dog's emotional state from that picture? Maybe it has a leg injury.

Indonesia and India must be idyllic places to live, then.

Cute idea, but the house wasn't turned upside-down in the movie.

I was referring to the comments made by Ee trying to imply that he/she was eking out an idyllic existence in perfect harmony with Nature. There's nobody with "no impact" on their environment. That was pretty much my point - you know, questioning the whole "holier-than-thou" stuff.
Oh, and the fact that kittens would probably be some other type of fuel than fossil fuel.
I'm not sure what deeper meaning you're looking for in my comment. Please don't put words in my mouth otherwise.
