Ah, but the article doesn't say that. It says "Pulitzer announced that the ship..."

Perhaps the mistake was originally Pulitzer's.

If it is a mistake, indeed. Wouldn't it be really neatorama material if the ship was on another ship? That way, if the Isere sank, the other ship would have a fighting chance.

Those clever French, eh?

Elephants squishing heads? People being tortured by irons?

I'd just be happy if you could get that picture of the Oscar streaker off the bottom of this form. I'm soo tired of it.

Yup, I'd have to say Neatorama readers are pretty whiny lately. Sure it's gross, but I didn't think Neatorama was necessarily child-friendly when I first came here.

I am reminded of the Quebec separation vote in the 1990's, where the two sides were "Oui" and "Non".
Obviously, they couldn't get away with big and small circles, but it struck me at the time how subtle the connotations of voting "Yes" or "No" were, in making separation sound positive, and staying as part of Canada sound negative.

It's interesting how they're also capitalizing on Adolf's popularity by having his name larger than the rest of the question. Have things really changed that much?

What a load of crap.
The government doesn't mind crackpot conspiracy theories, because:

1. Nobody in their right minds really believes them.
2. It makes people feel less vulnerable, and preserves the fantasy that the government is omnipotent.
3. It keep people distracted from the secret moon base built in cooperation with aliens, who are growing an army of human-alien hybrids to fight an intergalactic war with the insectoid scourge.

This is probably not a how-to manual, but more a celebration of what they've done, or perhaps a fantasy about what they'd like to do. It almost looks like a comic strip. Perhaps it's for the entertainment of children - to put the fear of God into them.

As mentioned above, Muslims are very big on the whole depiction of humans in art thing. Perhaps this is a way of enforcing one's power even further - by depicting the act, you enable yourself to commit the act. You make it less personal, and something that you can appear to have a casual conversation about, while torturing someone. We talk about the depiction of violence desensitizing people - perhaps this is meant to scare and get people used to the idea of torture. Perhaps it's a way to intimidate ordinary folks - this is what will happen to you!

Perhaps somebody left their camera at home.

And I doubt anything at Guantanomo Bay comes even close to this.

It's always a surprise what minutiae of their lives people think will be interesting to others.

This cat was no different from many, many cats. Cute cat, but come on...

Face value is $1 million. The actual value, I had heard, was $3 million. The article in the link says "about twice" its face value.

The tree is actually NOT eating the bicycle. It is simply growing around it.

If this is real, it was obviously set up a long, long time ago, and never touched since. Dubious, but not impossible.

You can't say you NEVER know. Just go by the rule of thumb. If it's being distributed on the Internet, and it seems outlandish, bizarre, or even highly improbable, it probably is.

Brayden. Don't call me an asshole because I suggested that Nora shouldn't break a perfectly reasonable law. And don't put words in my mouth. If you can find an unjust law that you're forced to abide by, and want to break, then you go ahead and break it. Don't act like so self-righteous.

If you don't like the system, then quit bitching about it, and change it. Maybe we should make all stop signs into yield signs. That way, people can just slow down at intersections. My, how you must suffer under that law.

I've gotten speeding tickets, and I've been ticked off about it, but I was breaking the law. I could eat my heart out all day long about all the other lawbreaking that goes unpunished, but why should I waste my time?

Like I said, you want to enforce the law, become a cop. If you don't, then quit whining and don't break the law - or if you must, break the law, but don't get caught.

Are you a troll, Brayden? You don't sound like a very friendly person.
