But the only screening done is to ask a person if they're (INSERT HIGH-RISK GROUP HERE) before they board the plane. We won't even screen their luggage, or anyone else's luggage, for that matter. After all, they're not (INSERT HIGH RISK GROUP HERE)s. Because people never lie. That wouldn't be very scientific of them to lie.

The thing about safety is that your whole generation wasn't going to die out because you didn't wear helmets or fall in the river. But some kids did. the thing about safety is trying to protect that small percentage of kids who did die doing the stuff that didn't harm YOU when you were a kid. The kids who got their heads crushed in or who were murdered or poisoned or fell in rivers aren't around to say, "I used to do that, and I didn't get hurt". Why? they're dead. Animals die out and other replace them. What's the point of keeping animals if we have their pictures on the tv and the internet? In that sense, why bother keeping them around at all? As binkie said, "Animals die out and others replace them".

I would rather see an animal in a protected area or captivity than see it die out altogether. I'm not a fan of zoos myself, but to compare a private collection of exotic animals with a large-scale professional zoo is ridiculous.
