Arachnids? More like poison to kill off any loose angels flapping around.

He did what we all want to do. In a more just world, we would just be able to punt the kid out into the parking lot.

Stoopid leaders. Do any politicians do anything anywhere that is worthwhile? My states budget is in the sewer, and yet they spent days arguing about the state cloud or slug or something equally ridiculous. Then they gave their staffs raises.

It could be MJ. They haven't buried him yet, he's a Jehovah's Witness meaning he can't be embalmed, and his body is in LA in all that heat. No wonder his ghost is melting.

I need this thing. I have almost no sense of taste due to a baseball mis-pitched by an idiot.

Ummmm... no, I don't think that I'll either hide or worry myself to death, but thank you for the ideas. Your response is typical of the "let's just ignore the problem and hope that it will go away" sheep-crowd. My death would do nothing to reduce the population.
Still, I understand your fear paralysis, but pick yourself up from the dirt and do something.

Hehe! "Cargina"
Actually, I happily talk about over-population all the time. The problem is, no one wants to discuss it because what can be done about it. Sure, a ruthless totalitarian state can do something, but what about democracies? In the future, I, the amazing Felix predict, as the world is falling apart into anarchy, it will be only the totalitarian countries that will preserve some semblance of civilization. It will be too late for the ostrich nations like the USA.

For example, the "over-population is a myth" group cited above is just a pro-life religious front group frequently cited by the likes of Pat Robertson. They claim that Texas alone can hold 7-8 billion and then the rest of the world can presumably hold hundreds of billions more.
Maybe it would be possible to live like that, eating sterilized bacteria slurry and drinking reprocessed urine and sweat. Animals don't matter, do they? Plants don't matter, do they? A decent quality of life is of no concern as long as we can churn out babies to make Baby Jesus happy.
It is a sick twisted theology, one with no responsibility for the needs of this planet.

We are talking about CURRENT fertility rates, not rates from a decade ago, or twenty years ago. C.U.R.R.E.N.T. At current rates, the population is projected at 50 billion in 90 years.
As for the hyper-optimistic "Ooer-population is a myth" pollyanna cheerleaders, brought to you by the chambers of commerce and the religious fundamentalists, their "science" is based more on hope and less on reality. Putting aside the economic hype and religious hoopla, over-population is most definitely not a myth.
Still, it is more comforting to hide from the nightmare than take the hard steps now that will someday be crucial to our survival.

We will have a nightmarish future. At current rates of fertility, there will be 50-100 billion people on the earth by 2100, with the USA being about 1.2 billion. By 2250, at current rates of fertility, there would be 134 trillion living humans, but there is not enough carbon in the galaxy for that to happen.
We do not need to sleep to experience this nightmare. We are already living it.

We had better get used to it. Looks like there is more to come. I was a bit surprised as well. Neatorama does not have to go this route.
